Good I Don't Have Sprint Anymore

I've had 4 different networks now, they all seem to suck compared to "real" phones. Wireless just isn't a very good technology in terms of reliability vs cost yet. Its slowly getting better and more cost effective though. One day it wont suck heh. But by then our expectations may be higher... so then it will be back to sucking again. hah.

Typically whoever it is that i talk to the most, i try to have the same type as they do. My calls can go very long and the mobile-to-mobile thing makes the calls "free" i'll take a virtually "free" sometimes dropped call over a pay-call almost any time hehe. Anytime and Night & Weekend minutes are then rendered irrelevant.

I tend to call only a small number of people, but the ones i do talk to , i talk to for a long ass time.

I went with Nextel/Sprint solely because Jon has Nextel through work, so we can bleepity-bleep (walkie-talkie) each other for free.

But I've ended up hating the walkie-talkie connection shit, so I usually call him directly anyway.

I will NOT be renewing with Nextel when our contract is up. Their customer service was the most horrible CS I've ever dealt with. And generally, I don't whine about CS because it all sucks these days anyway.

Bottom line for me is always price. Since I'm not one for much talking on the phone, and have MAYBE 10 numbers in my contact list - 5 of those family - I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, minutes, etc.

hah I have at&t AND Nextel.. but the nextel is for work so we can "bleepity beep" eachother and stuff.. I actually hate that feature.

It's funny that I have AT&T because I originally had AT&T and I HATED it (this was five + years ago) and so I switched to Cingular..and every time I hear that commercial.."fewest dropped calls than any other network" I make obscene gestures at them because I seriously lose more calls than any of my other friends on other networks.. cept Nextel that is..hehe. Maybe it's me and my phone *shrug*

Either way, the customer service on both suck. I think I may swtich to verizon when my time is up.. *sighs* *looks at calendar* I got till December 10..ugh

I DIDN'T get any dropped calls until Nextel married his bitch-ass whore wife, Sprint. Now calls are dropped, my signal goes in an out like madness for no apparant reason, and their customer service is WORSE. I didn't think that could happen. Also, my Nextel friends, well a few of them, say that once Sprint and Nextel got together they started getting "mysterious fees" on their account and furthermore a few friends, my best friend Lisa included, got a bill for 200 some odd dollars and when she called Sprint and said that her bill was bogus they said "she went over her minutes by a few hundred." When she got her bill she was UNDER her minutes on the statement and it took them months to take it off. Sprint = succubus wench. Period.

I won't disagree with you.

I've just been lucky enough to not experience anything like that.

Knock on wood.

I've had Sprint for over 6 years, and never had a dropped call. I agree that the customer service is crappy, but anywhere I've went in the US I've had no problems with calls or signal. Customer service could be better, but I'm happy with Sprint

This has been my experience with Sprint as well. Customer service has been up and down through a couple reorganizations (started good, then was kinda spotty, but has been good again recently) and I have almost never had a dropped call. One thing to remember is that calls can be dropped at both ends. I usually talk to sprint users (everyone from work and my whole family is on Sprint) and dropped calls are a rarity. Obviously inter-network connections will have a higher chance of dropping due to the nature of the beast, but it's hardly a 'Sprint' problem.

I have ATT prepaid plan. It wasnt by choice because ATT bought out Cingular. I wasnt too hip to Cingular CS either so the only thing causing me to stick with ATT was the option of prepay. I don't like signing my life...ahem to a contract. That's for credit card companies. Heh

I haven't had much trouble with Sprint ever since they got rid of the damn India customer service people. I could NEVER understand them and ended up getting myself into another contract on the side of my current one because I thought one would replace the other. But NOW, they went to Canada for customer service and its just like talking to an american but with the occassional "aboot" and "eh"
