Cool to see one of the biggest labels in music history taking a chance with a release like this, I'm sure it's because of AFI's massive success, but still. Ronan from VNV is said to work with them again (he did a bit of work on the last AFI record) and the Assemblage 23 remix of Stiff Kittens has already begun popping up on playlists, including here in the Detroit area.

Hot Topic will host listening events for their debut album "CexCells" in all of their locations on Friday, August 3rd at 5pm, the first 15 people to show up at each event will receive a free special Blaqk Audio pin, and a limited edition Hot topic exclusive single with remixes will be available as well.

I hate to say this, especially about something that Hot Topic is promoting so heavily, but uh... I actually like it. It's not amazing, but it's nice on the ears.

As an AFI fan and former fan of futurepop/synthpop, this isn't too bad. Its got more "passion" in it than most futurepop thats coming out these days. Its more trad-synthpop sounding. Which is nice. Davey's vocals are ace in it.
