That's when I started buying synth and samplers... I love it... I also play didgeridoo...

I would not say I have a "talent" persay... more like a "love"

I write music, mostly minimalist and ambient pieces. Life Toward Twilight

I have been involved in music since 1993.

I'm looking for a serious vocalist and other instrumentalists (preferably a cellist or violinist) to help with live performances, if any of you are interested. Let me know. =)

Age 9 I started on highland bagpipes....played in a bagpipe band until I was about 17, started playing guitar...self taught....at about 21 I started taking classical lessons....didnt really stick with them, but it helped me develop my right hand picking style....took a little lead, never got to use it much...

I play mainly folk/ 70s rock, and acoustic/rock.....traditional irish, scottish and english songs and ballads

Synthesizer for 3 years. Hopefully one day will start either an art-punk/no-wave band, or a goth/funk band (think early Killing Joke, Bauhaus, Brilliant, Gang of Four, Liquid Liquid).

I like those artists you mentchen.

My music background stems from my early childhood. My dad had band when still in the crib stage of my life they used to play from 10:00pm at night until the next morning.

I have written music since I was 8 years old.

I was in Recorder class when I was in Elementary School.

5th Grade band, I played Clarinet (But, I fact it the whole time).

I took guitar lessons when my dad died but, never could master it.

I play synthesizer / piano most of my life. Took lessons for 2 years and dropped out..because my teacher said I was way more advance then other kids, she wouldn't let me goto resiteles.

I write music on the piano/synthesizer and write lyrics as well.

I love all kinds of music. To prove it I have over 1,000mp3s on my hard drive, 40 - 45s, 400 Records(LPs), 200 (Cassettes), 10- 8-Tracks, 50- Real to Real Tapes.

My music knowledge and listing have expand over many moons.

I also play the drums and the tribal drum's at drum circles.

I also own 5 synthizers and 1 electric stage piano and also 1 Electric Air Harmonica thing.

Write/play/program everything in function13 (except where noted).

Started on guitar at 15 years old. Can finger pick a bit. Not great at it, but I know my way around a fret board. Love playing bass guitar, which I find more interesting than guitar... seems I have a knack for it.

Can play keys (piano/synth/organ/etc) with some degree of professionalism. I also enjoy caramel flavored rice cakes.

I played Clarinet for a year in high school, never again, same goes for recorder; just not my thing, at all.

Piano I've played on and off through the years, I can't "play" but I enjoy playing it; I've been told I play good even though I don't know how to play.

Also played the drums for fun.

Guitar I've played for about three years, on and off.

Singing is something I'd like to do for sure if I start a band up, I have no experience with any real (as in live) bands yet.

I have a half of a year experience in FL Studio, I use piano roll and play things by ear.

My signature has a banner that'll take you to my music projects now.

I know quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, beyond that can't read music; so far I haven't felt the need to learn it, always bored me.

I've had thoughts about investing in an electric violin in the future; definetly want to start a band up someday in the future.

I sing like a mutha.

yes like a mutha, i am that good. but mostly because my hair is naturally curly, only next moth Ill be 41 and I have less hair than i did when I was 19 and so obviously my superpowers are waning.

I try to play guitar, but I sukketh. nonetheless I have written songs with others even in my sukkethness. I am currently building a tele copy that has Brenda Starr on the back of it, so if I dont get any better I can at least pose down like a mutha.

I have no training in anything, mostly because I have no discipline....no, thats not true, I have no patience. I grew up watching and hanging with bands on the sunset strip in Hollywood. Once it was a magical time, then it became ugly and vacant. One day I decided I was a singer and bought a PA and started playing in local garage bands. The shortly afterward I saw and answered an ad in BAM magazine for a band set to do an album and tour and I tried out and somehow got the gig and had no clue whatsoever what I was doing. They took me to the studio and I shit my pants and choked and blew my voice because i had no CLUE how to sing without killing my instrument and I had no concept of tonality - all I had was a cool voice and a wide range - WHEN I was in key.

So they fired me. they should have. I sucked.

I returned to the world of garage bands, with my confidence shattered. But I started learning my instrument. Then I got a call from these guys again - every singer they tried couldent pull it off in the studio (singers are notoriously delicate). They asked me if I'd take another shot at it. So I did. It was different this time - I had allready been shitcanned so I had no pressure and lunch was free. I did the entire album - about 13 tracks - in a weekend and it was solid. Suddenly I realzied I might have learned something. We did shows. the album flopped. The drummer lost his mind (literally) and was out on the streets. Back to the garage bands I was to come, only with some very valuable experience under me and a wee bit o confidence.

Years went by. I answered another ad (I think - I dont remember exactly how I hooked up) in LA Connection for another band headed for a tour and the studio with a deal from Epic records. There was some bullshit involved I was to learn but whatever. I got the gig, by now i had learned to sing and not blow my rig. I hated that band and they hated me. They wanted me to zig, and I was a zagger. They had all aready "almost" made it (unknown albums and tours and shit) and were all solid players, i was cocky and did not listen to anybody but I could give you a show onstage and the girlies got wetties and I always hit the notes but I was not the best team player. We cut some tracks for an EP on Pamplin Music (a now defunct lable) in a very plush studio with engineers and producers and all that crap. The tracks got radio rotation in LA for a couple of months, we got on TV from a show we did at the whisky, we were "sorta" on our way but we couldent stand each other, especially the drummer and myself. I have drummer issues. We imploded in a big fight and all went our seperate ways and that was the end of that.

For a short while I went back to garage bands but they were all trying to figure out thigns that I thought I had allready figured out and I wanted to push myself so I pulled back and started lookign around....

I formed the Theives after that - an acoustic (no kiddin) trio between myself, and the guitar player from Tyrant (a huge sunset strip band who were basically a bunch of drunken criminals from the 80's scene who were unknown here but GODS in like, Germany and Japan, here they were plumbers and mechanics ) and teh guitar player from Just Authority - another band from the day and we wrote and recorded a bunch of zepplin wannabe styled tunes that were sometimes brilliant and sometimes just tooooooooooo much. But my vocal style really melded at that period and so Im thankful for it.

then I bought my first house and had a major operation and stopped making music for a few years. I was frustrated by taht but sort of felt like my time had come and gone. Then I moved to Detroit (Garden City).

A year or so went by and I started goign to "reuinion" shows by a band called Power Source. They were all high school pals of my wife (shes from here) and had gotten back togethor and were playing out everywhere. In time I heard a rumour that they were nto happy with their singer and they had heard some old track s that Laura had played them and they asked me (and a buncha others) to audition. I was nervous - hadent sang in eons. Got the gig.

re-learned my craft. and for the first time in my life I was doing covers which strangely was a discipline of its own.

We played out alot the first year, now its slowed down quite a bit due to babies on the way, mortage payments etc. But its always a party and a great time when we play. Thru Power Source I met a host of old school Detroit Players from the rock scene, and have jammed with many of them. Thru those connections I recently formed Medicine Wheel - my current focus for orginal tunes in a classic rock style vein. And Im hoping to make a connection with this band, time will tell....
