My Hair ...

I've had, what?, four different hair colours in a year - eek - ... it was inevidable (or something like that).

I overprocessed my hair. They have me using Aphogee shampoo, Biolage reconstructing conditioner and a leave in conditioning treatment ... and NO MORE DYE.

NO MORE DYE .... I'm not even 30 yet and my natural has gray in it ... how am I supposed to not dye it anymore?

I dyed it not to long ago, when I found this out -- the Aphogee shampoo is stripping out my colour and it's already faded to an orange colour ...

What, if anything, can I do? I am willing to wait it out if needed ... but do I have any other alternatives?

I've heard the same thing... but... if you've been told your hair needs to rest, it might be best to just do that!

...and more if ya want em. :)

I've been told that dyes that dont have a processing agent are ok to use somewhat often. I dont know how well this would cover up your current color, but if the shampoo's stripping it anyway..... I've been told y my hair guru that I can keep touching up the purple for example even weekly if i please, because it's just pigment. Henna would be the same (if it was just the henna and not henna mixed with other stuff). Maybe one of those bright red colors, and leave it on a real long time? Worth a try, anyway....

Yay hairfalls!!! I think with the current state of my hair I can never have enough (okay, it's just an excuse ... I'd say that I could never have enough anyway).

I'll have to look into it. That's why I asked ... this has been going on for like a month now ... and I don't want orange hair. LOL. I'm not quite sure what's underneath, but I think it's blonde ... Ick, I don't want to be blonde!!!!

You are soooo not a blonde. Nikki was naturally blonde and I was glad i never saw her that way. She didn't look good as a redhead either. You, on the other hand, should always be a redhead. Or blue. :-P

I was blonde for a great deal of high school and shortly after ... I'm still to this day not quite sure why I did that ... it did NOT look good on me.

Nikki looked good with her dark hair. .... I can't imagine her as blonde.

Me, on the other hand, am too pale for dark so the red suits me perfect. ... my hair has been just about some shade or another of every weird and non natural colour as well ... but I need to keep in mind that although Friday may resolve much of my court issues, I can be called back at anytime. Not to mention, I'm working on my legal degree. So unfortunately, non natural colours are out of the question.

But GRRRRRR I don't want to have to go more than a few more weeks without doing something with it ....

you could always go drastic and shave it off to let it grow in healthy

Use semi-permanent stains!!

They only stain,....no processing....

keep using it until your natural hair grows out...

Thats what I've done over the last 2 years....

My ends break off, and almost every hair is a split end...but the top part of my hair is healthy and then eventually, it will be long enough to just lobb off the 4 inch ends that are fried.

ALMOST THERE!!!

then I can just let the stain wash out!

It'll take a few years...

maybe concider getting a cute hair cut to play with over the time frame!

=)

I use Loreal Color Pulse...

they have some cute colors I think would suit you!

Like the Funky Cherry or Copper.....

Put your hair in pony tails and wash it less often.

??

I dunno.....just my own process after going through about 4 bleach jobs in a 2 month span from when my hair was black.

When I died my hair blue I did the Redkin cat and ppt treatments and it honestly worked.

3 cats back to back and 1 ppt.

I am really liking the red pulse.

I'll have to look into that.

I was going to suggest this too, or even the foam in color that only lasts about 5-7 washes. You have to constantly color, but it doesn't damange your hair. I did this in high school when my parents wouldn't let me use anything permanent.

Back in March I cut my own hair to about chin length and dyed it back to my natural brown to try to get it healthier, so far it's working, and it's nice to not have to touch up roots every 3-4 weeks.

And stay away from black or bleach blond, unless you want your hair to be that color forever. Otherwise the damage it wreaks isn't worth it.

Awww man, if I had an answer I wouldn't have boy-hair right now

Anyone wondered why I actually shaved my head bald? It wasn't to look like GI Jane, I'll tell ya that much.

I dyed mine black for years and then I read up on how bad hair dye is for your scalp and that it can cause hair loss over time, premature greyness, and in some cases cancer so I was like "hmmm blonde hair...? Or head cancer? Blonde hair...? Or head cancer? Fuck....I guess I'll be blonde *mope*"

All that I can say to you Rayne is good luck!

I second the vote for semi-permanent color and Redken Cat.

When I fried my hair it was even too fragile to use the regular semi-permanents on, so I very carefully put Clairol Natural Instincts on the healthy roots ONLY, being careful not to overlap. It blended pretty well and allowed my hair to grow out without causing further damage.

I'd almost rather shave my head than go gray. My grays are so yukky against muddy brown hair. Just can't go natural, love my bright red!

Semi-permanent is the way to go with severly damaged hair. Most semi's like clairol beautiful and the sort are actually mildly conditioning. Upkeep blows but you can still keep an even color. Don't wash your hair as frequently and use something like a k-pak treatments. They are amazing. Or in terms of Biolage though, definatly try cera-repair if you can. Deep treat like once a week.

I tell you what, your hair can be no worse than some idiot clients i have seen, that decided to bleach their hair with straight clorox, then color over it. Now that is fried...

You fried your hair after only 4 dye jobs in a year?!

I've dyed my hair that much in a week and never had a problem.

What exactly did you do?!?!

The only thing I can think is if you must dye your hair, use temp dyes and user darker shades. They're less damaging because it takes less color removal.

LOL, no, I BLEACHED it from dark brown and black 4 times in a year ... dyed it much more than that.

I've been using the Color Pulse. It's working well for me. I like it.

Along with reconstructing shampoo and a really good conditioner.

Ditto.

Think of all the fun you can have with it as it is growing out!

I wasn't trying to be a butt, I've done the pixie cut a couple of times now

I'm actually considering it again.
