Rivet_HeadINC Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 Rest In Peace Friend...the world will get on with out you :
Fierce Critter Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 I got a little sad over this. Shed a tear. As popes go, he was pretty traditionalist in holding up outdated policies that I don't agree with. Yet, he was quite a good church leader otherwise.
Rivet_HeadINC Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 He was a very good Religious Leader, and Political Figure. He rejuvinated the Catholic Faith and that took a lot especially in the 70's, 80's and now.
JaneDead Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 he also travelled to other countries and visited other religious locations (such as synagogues and mousks -spelling?- first pope to do so from what i understand) and even though he was tradionalistic in his views (which i don't agree with) he also did seem to be more open to *some* modern ways of belief. he is a person who affected the world and now the world will be changed since he is gone. maybe not for everyone or for each of us individually- but there will be change whether you acknowledge it or not.
LuthienTheFallen Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 i wont harrass the pope nice guy sorry old fella

Ginevra Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 The Incredible Popeman. (I'm not kidding nor am I posting this to anger or upset anyone. Just found it . . . . odd.)
Nerdcore Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 last night in Pope Park ( in hamtramck ) some people in full scotish uniform played the funeral bagpipes. I though that was beautiful.
Fierce Critter Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I bet it was, NC. I would have liked to have seen that.
Brenda Starrr Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 They used to tap the pope with a hammer No lie. I had no idea that they actually did this. I'm not trying to anger anyone or be a smarty about it. Wayne found this yeterday, and I didn't know about it. I mean, who sat back and said "It's okay to hit him in the head with a hammer, because he might not be dead"?
