Fierce Critter Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I have gone to KFC in the past, gone through the drivethrough, only to be told "sorry, we're out of chicken." How a KFC can be "out of chicken" I don't know. And we don't eat KFC very often, because we've got the best fried chicken 2.58 minutes away from us at Soltz's in Wyandotte. But once in a while, ya know, ya just get a craving for a bukkit. I missed out yesterday, 'cause the craving came after hours. Today, we're on our way home from A2, and we pull off at Rawsonville Road where I remember there is a KFC. And I ask the woman at the counter if the 10 piece bukkit can be a mix of original and extra crispy. "I don't know, we might be out of chicken." pause "So... we should just leave?" "well, there are three orders ahead of you." "So, there's no guarantee we'll get chicken?" "I could end up having to refund your money." So we leave. And we go to the one on Telegraph in Taylor. Pull through the drivethrough. I knew we were in for trouble when nobody said, "Welcome to KFC, can I help you?" and I had to say, "HELLO???" to the speaker stand. So, someone finally comes on to help me. And I say I'd like the 10 piece bukkit. But can I have it half original and half crispy? "We don't have any original." pause lots of noise in the background, I can tell I'm not being paid attention to "Oh yeah, we have original." Alrighty. So I say I'll take the 10 piece bukkit. And she interrupts me. "You know it's the $9.99 bukkit and not the $19.99?" pause "What do I get for $9.99?" "5 thighs and 5 legs." pause "So it's all dark meat?" "no, it's not all dark. It's 5 thighs and 5 legs." pause We drive off. For the record, I'm not partial to dark meat chicken. In a pinch, but not my first choice. I just want the satisfaction of walking out with a round, heavy bukkit of chicken under my arm. A nice mix of white and dark meat chikken to eat over a couple days with my husband. So, third time's the charm, right? We hit the Lincoln Park one on Dix. Lights are on, good to go. Pull up to the speaker stand. pause Girl comes out front with a smoke. "We're closed." You know, Culver's chicken isn't very good. But their burgers are passable. Wasn't up to trying their custard tonight.
Homicidalheathen Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Maybe the genetic mutated chickens came back to life and revolted lol Zombie chickens!!!
Medea Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Man... You were just not having the chicken luck...
DarkChylde Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Sometimes ya just gotta choke that chicken. LOL (sorry, just trying to be funny). Me personaly I hate KFC for one reason only, shitty services.
Reaper Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Weird as I went to KFC earlier this week in Canton and they didn't have any white meat. So I had to order a bucket of dark meat. I wonder if something is amiss at the KFC farms.
DeadBurgerKing (10) Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 "It's like rain on your wedding day...it's a free ride when you've allready paid..." Yeah, I think you get my point lol
jadnifer Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Everytime I go to KFC, I get either shitty service or they screw something up. They gave me the wrong gravy once They couldnt give me extra crispy because they were getting ready to close...if you are still open then give me what I want!! They took my order and then left me sitting there for like five minutes so I pulled up to the window and they said that they were closed and I said that they took my order...so they gave me what I wanted. I was pissed. Maybe its all a KFC conspiracy!!
DarkRacer Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Try the ones in Detroit, we always got the meat.
Guest GodfallenPromos Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 lol....I bet you were going out of your finger licking mind...sorry...had to said it. also....remember what Little Nicky teaches us....Popeyes is the shiznat
creatureofthenyte Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I think the brains of all the KFC employees were powered by trans-fat. Now that KFC got rid of trans-fat, the employees are screwed and so are the customers.
Reaper Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Try the ones in Detroit, we always got the meat. Damn man, that's what happened! They are sending all chicken to the D because they are worried they would go out of business!
Fierce Critter Posted August 6, 2007 Author Posted August 6, 2007 We got our bukkit today. And now the world can sleep peacefully.
Kit Kat P Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 We got our bukkit today. And now the world can sleep peacefully. Now I need to get one. Grr the KFC craving.
pomba gira Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Not into ANY chain fast food chicken... we have a local joint here called Munchies which kicks ass... but when I've gone to KFC with family or friends, they do seem to have universally poor service whatever the location. Chicken prices are through the roof lately... saw wings for $2.89/lb at Kroger yesterday (sent my brain straight into shock) and frying chickens at Meijer have been running $7-8 bucks each. But I wouldn't think KFC would have any problems getting chicken at any price. For the record, Culver's frozen custard is wondrous. Almost as good as that place on Woodward out by 14 mile. I've yet to try any of their other stuff (none around here, only get it when we go up to the cottage) but I have high hopes just based on that custard.
DeadBurgerKing (10) Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Try the ones in Detroit, we always got the meat. Dark Racer, man...they're talking about chicken....hahaha
Der Nister Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 I've crossed KFC off my list - I always have issues when I go there so I say fuck 'em - I'll eat fast food elsewhere.
honeymustard02 Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 I dont do KFC anymore after that whole thing on the news of the people who care for the chickens running around kicking and stomping on them. That grossed me out and I boycotted it and haven't had their stuff in like a year or more.
Fierce Critter Posted August 8, 2007 Author Posted August 8, 2007 Well, to top things off, out of a 14-piece bucket that cost $20.99, there were all of two pieces of white meat in there. One breast, one wing. And if you know KFC, they split their breasts into ribs & keels. So you don't even get a full breast. Not that I ever intend to get KFC again, but I'm writing the company to tell them what I've been through with their stupid stores over the past few days. After I get a coupon for free chicken, I'm never going there again. Yeah, you get a craving for those unique 12-herbs-and-spices once in a blue moon. But damned if I'm going after a bukkit anymore.
sass_in_the_pants Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 The Colonel is turning in his grave right now. That just aint right.
Reaper Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 The Colonel is turning in his grave right now. That just aint right. You bet he is!
TrixieGothGirl Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 That really sucks when you go to three different KFC's & ya don't get what you want. But then what do you expect when they hire nothing but teenagers. I havn't really liked KFC ever since the Colonel died. You KNOW that he's turning in his grave. I remember back in the mid 70's they used to have the .99 cent special. It contained two pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes w/gravy, coleslaw, a small ear of corn & a dinner roll. Man, I wish they'd bring that back. Those were the days. To top it off, the food there USED TO be good.
