I use AIM.

Yahoo tended to be the best since you had a multitude of smiley faces which I enjoy using. You can even download porn smileys as well as holiday ones. All my contact info is on my profile though.

Trillian isn't a messaging network, it is just a client to access the network. As far as I know it doesn't have it's own network and just uses AIM, ICQ, MSN, or Y!IM (along with a few others).

I occasionally pull trillian out of the trash when temporarily insane or browbeat into it.

But forced to pick one... Yahoo if we are talking about domestically.

Internationally MSN.

IMs are cheaper and worth less than paper. I prefer to save resources.

I'm on yahoo. If someone wants my screen name that badly to instant message me, all they have to do is check my profile. I use MSN as well however NO ONE gets that name unless I really really REALLY trust you.

Are they supposed to work now? Its been ages but i know back in Ye Olden Days file transferring was only for the "pay" version of trillian along with just about every other feature other than just straight messages.
