i just like goth girls.

is that so wrong?

me too, me too

I just like wearing black like Johnny Cash. I'm really a hillbilly. :-)

hey that's me too!!! Love Johnny Cash... I guess you can call me a hillbilly...

How does one vote if i don't know what it is i'm voting about or what is or what im voting for? Oh wait that's how George got elected never-mind. =P

Assuming the assumed, assuming stereotype goth, i'd guess less than 2% of the board would call themselves "a goth".

That is very true Troy

I am just myself

and happy with that.

That is all that matters..

For me I am a chameleon... I tend to fit in anywhere I want to... Or more like a ghost that no one notices until they need something...

Kewl, you rawk ghosty, chameleon person.

I consider myself an eclectic mix of hard rocker/hippie/goth/folk/punk/biker/etc. etc. etc.

I love goth girls, I think they are amazingly beautiful.... and the whole goth culture had drawn me ever since it started.... I started going to City Club about 12 years ago, and try to get there as often as I can.... after my divorce I was full of angst, anger, and got into groups like Bauhaus, Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, and all forms of music that expressed the emotion I was feeling... and for the most part still do.

People are always surprised at my tastes and I never understood that, it isnt like we are all in some sort of exclusive club.

All forms of expression are valid to me.... why is it thought strange when someone like me likes them? I like to think of goth people as "alternative"....more than anything else... but I think that is just me.

We all have our own way of seeing the world, and what is in it.... and i think that is ok. In an age where diversity isn't tolerated, the diverse are the only ones who are truly free. You are a unique bunch of people, and I am honored to be among you.

I just like music and can fit in anywhere. Blame it on my parents. All three of them. Whom I love very much. And love me very much back. I come from a very tight family. I can fit in from the goth crowd to the rap crowd to the classical crowd. I guess that DOESN'T make me a TRUE GOTH after all. But what is a TRUE GOTH? That is why I like the term FREAK. I LOVE (picture that underlined many times) being a freak. I love studying history. I love to become what I study. So please, call me a FREAK, and I shall thank you.

I'm so uber goth I painted my house black just like my SOUL. So yeah....and I drink coffee. Black coffee. 'Cause you can't be a non-conformist if you don't drink coffee.

No but in all seriousness, no matter how much I try to abstain or be non-stereotypical, it just naturally happens. I used to try to fight the goth label, but now I guess I kinda embrace it. It's always seemed silly to me, the people who fight it, it's like going up to a black guy and being all "well I mean blah blah blah since your black and such" and having him be like "I am NOT black!" Seems silly, I mean don't fight it, just lay back and take it. Have fun with it even, never hurts to make fun of yourself a little, takes your own ego down a few notches.

I like my coffee like my goths. Black.

Speaking of which... I saw the first "goths" in Danville since I moved here. At a swimming ppol, no less. Of course... they were not swimming... just hanging in the shade under the playground equipment. Too bad I'm leaving... Not really. LOL!!

With that I'll call you a "preeneopurist-goth". Because the definition you would use is the former new definition of what goth is.

Unless you want to use the technical meaning of things. Then you just called yourself an art-cigarette.

All I'm saying is the meaning has changed.

I will aways stick to the claim that goth is a music based subculture based out of the outgrowth of the (post-)punk/anarcho/art-punk scene. People into the flirtation of darkness, beauity, impersonal feelings, and the occult and a fan of "goth" music are goths. Batcave and onward is goth. If you dress the part nowadays, don't like old school or new school goth music, and generally listen to cyber/techno/ebm/metal, you aren't a goth. You are a raver going to a cyber funeral.

I am very pure when it comes to goth. I mean, you got darkwave, which is influenced by new wave/coldwave and minimal industrial, but thats a genre that should never have been invented. Darkwave is just what bands called themselves when they knew they were a goth band, and wanted to get a record label. hahaha.

I'll make sure to attend. It's hard to refuse an invitation to check someone out personally, especially when said person is wicked.

I'm not anything. Yes, I am part of the goth community but I'm not "goth." I believe at one point or another all of us have had some scars that are hidden to the norm. That does make me feel it. We have encountered some kind of of force that is unexplainable. We are who we are and I don't think you can label yourself as goth. It's not just a way of life to me it's how well it is cemented in you. But, alas Edgar Allan Poe is the closest thing to goth to me. Read the Griswold's "Memoir"
