There is nothing like getting home & being able to relax in your own home. I really did enjoy myself but I hated being traveling for almost 4 days to get to Colorado. My hubby's dad lives there. Oh, on one of days that we(my hubby, daughter & me) were in Denver, we went to Casa Bonita. Nice restaurant but I don't think that I'll go there again. The novelity would wear off too fast. I'd like to hear your best and or worse vacations.

Welcome back to a rainy week!

Back in 1999 I went to England with my flight paid by a girl's parents. I had met her in 1996 and talked to her a lot over the computer and phone as well as exchanging pics and letters. I was going to pay for the flight myself but I ran into a big financial crisis. She was upset but her parents stepped in to pay for my roundtrip flight to see her in England. It was a good time even though she worked most of the two weeks in the fish and chips shop below her flat from noon to midnight. I had to find stuff to do myself most of the time. But it was sunny and 80 degrees most of my time there. Even though I didn't get to spend as much time with her, I made a friend that was from Canada and hung out with him at a bar or two. I did get lots of photo material of a couple of old cemeteries which made it all worth it. That was the last real vacation I have had since then. Once my year comes around working for this grocer, my boss said that he felt comfortable paying me for 2 weeks right off the bat. Now what they are going to do once I am gone for 2 weeks is beyond me because the truck company that they use to haul stuff long distance for them (my old company), is not accepted by the local grocers because of the fact that the drivers dont care to work physically.

well my two most memorible ones were back in 97-98 and 3 years ago

the 97-98 i was camping at the wamplers state park in irish hills with my grandparents my now deceased great aunt lenia and my sisters

well my older sister went home becouse if you know anything about the woods in that particular state park you know theres a bomb shelter with no ladders or anything we climbed up a tree to get on top and then youd climb in it

the other ladder was removed so you couldnt climb on it... well my sister decided to be smart and jump down from the top and land on her feet not bending her knees ended up slipping two disks and she was lucky she didnt paralyize herself from it... then about 3 days later after she left there was a major thunderstorm that went across most of the state of michigan well the campsite next to us no one was in it thank god but a tree got hit by lighting a big old one and anyone who would have been in that lot would have died... the tree was about 6 feet away from ours we decided to go home that night becouse my aunt was freaking out...(she was really old and blind) and the whole way home there was lighting and fallen tree branches everywhere i dont think weve camped in irish hills since..

uhm the second one

i went down to lake cumberland kentucky we packed the one jetski like beverly hillbilly style we wratchet-strapped coolers, bikes, our tent and all sorts of what not attached.... the truck that was also filled up.... we just got our lab bailey at the time i took her swimming in that lake which was man made in the mountains so i had to walk her down a mountain side and then the whole time she kept climbing on my back when i was trying to swim.. then we walked back up the mountain..on a different day i ended up sinking my jetski to the handle bars due to the drain plugs not being in... so i dove down plugged em up ... it was great tho. there were no speed limits on that lake and it was soo pretty the only problem we had was trying to find a place to eat everything but the huddle house closed before 7 and my familia is nocturnal =)......even so had to have been thee best vacation ive been on

Ain't it the truth tho Homicidalheathen. Guys do like to drive right thru but with having two females with him, he had to stop every once in a while. As so as I get the photos loaded into the 'puter, I'll post em. I just hope I can figure out how to do that.

I've driven cross-country twice, both times w/ men, w/ almost no stopping. Both times I was told I was the only female they comfortable turning the wheel over too, and not once did we have to stop for me to pee. I can hold it if they can. I'd like to do it again and take pictures.

But back on topic...

This last trip was wonderful. I've been blessed that nearly every real vacation has been good (Bavaria , a Caribbean cruise, Mexico) and that I have lived in some beautiful places, from the west coast to the east coast to parts of MI.
