I have yet to have a bad experience there and I have been going almost a dozen times. I haven't even seen any problem when I was there. IN April when they came to Harpos there was a lot of security even down the block.

Apparently, they've cleaned up quite a bit. David was there in November, and said it wasnt all that bad.

I have been to 3 Harpos concerts. Just get there early so you can park in the lot. Never had any problems......they have guards driving around watching the cars.

Actually it used to have a horrible reputation, I know because I've had friends tell horror hood stories lol and not only that but the only reason they have massive security now is because of one particular concert that I happened to go to. Orgy was playing....erm like 2004? Something like that. But during Blue Monday, or right before it actually, Jay Gordon was all like "You're all gonna wanna be real careful when you leave, there's some assholes out there shootin' their guns off and shit" and we're all rolling our eyes like "Okay Mr. Cali, I'll just take it you really don't know Detroit 'cause this shit happens all the time" but sure enough we went outside and there were bodies and blood and what happened is some random crazy motherfucker ran up and shot like three security guards point blank and killed 'em. Also Harpo's is a haven for bikers (like the angry kind) and they're really territorial from what I've heard. But that's only if you go on a normal club night, not to a concert.

Now though they have the angriest looking motherfuckers who stand there all serious like with their arms crossed and scare people who are lookin to rob or break into cars away. Oh that's another problem Harpo's used to have, if you went down there and parked your car it didn't matter where you did, nowhere was safe. I've had friends get shit stolen out of their cars, including air bags and especially systems, but now they actually have some one sit there and watch the lot. I think Harpo's is finally realizing that people being shot in the face or having their car stolen while in the show is bad for buisness. Only took them a few decades to catch on

I'd go, but I'm already going to Gwar the next night, and I can't do Harpo's two nights in a row. Used to have permanent all-access there, and I rarely even used it.

I was there that night. I forgot all about it until I read your post. That was crazy. I remember the band telling everyone to be careful and then walking out and seeing all the cops and ambulances. Crazy shit!

yep and Lordi is gonna be with them also at both dates from what I hear.... not impressed with Lordi from what I seen at ozzfest..... on another note might not beable to make this one we shall see.....
