Brother_Hood Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Just wondering if there are any serving or veteran military members on DGN? You don't often seen goths in the military. Is that just because you have to have short hair? and camo paint doesn't come in white?

TrixieGothGirl Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 My son, who considers himself goth, WAS in the Army but got discharged on a "mental disorder" because of the fictional stories that he writes. He just got home on Sept. 11. I asked him what happened. Here's what he told me, in part, while he was still in schooling for training to be a diesel mechanic, someone broke into his locker & discovered a binder in it. This person began reading the contents & reported it to their superiors. To make a long story short, they told my son that they couldn't have someone like him in the Army because they thought that he just might fire on his own ppl. My son writes gory, violent FICTIONAL stories. He's not unstable at all but the Army, in it's imfamote wisdom, just couldn't take that chance. At least when they kicked him out, they put on his DD214, ie, discharge papers, enlistment code 3. That means that he CAN to into another branch of the service. He's thinking that he'll either go Navy or Air Force.
TrixieGothGirl Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Even though I not even as goth as my son (no disrespect intented) I'm ex Navy.
Head Wreck Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 moral of story is not to leave such stuff in lockers
Scary Guy Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 And if you really want to get kicked out. http://skippyslist.com/?page_id=3
CandyQuackenbush Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I am in the Army Reserve, and as most of you know, I am finishing up my 2nd tour in Iraq. I've been in for over 5 years and haven't looked back. On my first tour, my Military Career was almost completely ruined by a non-military person. After many investigations, I was cleared and all my issues where droped. I love my job, I am a Heavy Equpiment Operator, or as we call it in the Army, a 21 E. I do road construction and drive big-rigs. I love the fact that guys look at me funny when I hop out of the drivers seat and a guy is in the bitch seat. The facal expressions are priceless.
Reaper Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Yep, you don't see many good looking truck drivers. Its amazing how much you can surprise people when a hot gal jumps out of a semi or some heavy equipment because it throws the "weak woman" image out the door. Now most guys that I have talked to think that only lesbian types would get into the big trucks. I myself was a manager for a truck company and we had a hot chic who turned every head guy or girl. She still works for them last I checked too.
Head Wreck Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 that list. thank fuck i never joined the royal engineers. i can see myself doing quite a few of them

Brother_Hood Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 I love the idea of running to 'Headhunter" One you lock the target Two you bait the line....
Brother_Hood Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 I'm still in the Army, albeit the reserves. In October I'm going overseas to play in the sand again.
Soulrev Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Yeah I've even ran into a few people who could be considered Goth down here in Fort Polk.
