How Would You Spend Your Millions(or Billions)

Since FierceCritter's post mainly asked about whether you'd stay with your partner - I'm curious how you'd spend your millions should you come into a bunch of money?

I'd set aside at least 10% and hire someone to manage the money for charity (invest it and then dole it out as the money grew). That way they can handle for me anyone asking for cash.

I'd likely keep the house I have now. I'd fix the roof, find someone experienced in restoring victorian homes and get my stucco and many other things repaired. Definitely remodel the kitchen - yay! I'd have fun doing that one.

I'd quit the job I have now. (actually may do that soon anyway) I've been in this same job forever and I've gone as far as I care to go in this field.

I'd do a lot more traveling, take time to write much more, spend more time having fun with my girls and my honey. I'd take care of my mom and sister's needs and set up some sort of fund where they have $ to depend on.

I'd buy that castle building, make it into a clean, cool goth club with plenty of free parking, paid security (actually real pay, not miminum wage).

and since my millions aren't here yet, I better quit dreaming and get my butt back to work now :)

A sizeable amount to relatives and friends

Buy a house in a decent area (nothing too big though, cause that's just not me)

Set up college and trust funds for all of the younger children in the family

Some to investing

Take more college classes, for fun

3) Buy a beautiful log home on Lake Michigan up north.

4) Buy my mom anything she wants.

5) Hire Dave Ramsey to show me how to best invest my funds.

6) Buy 2 decent vehicles for myself and my husband.

7) Buy or rescue two Yorkies

8) Hire a cleaning company to gut this house.

9) Start a cat sanctuary.

Screw charity. They always seem to misuse the money nowadays. I have my own means of fixing life without giving it away for free. Like I always tell the bums, you have to work for it to get my money because I worked fuckin hard to get it, then so should you!

Family first as they have worked hard all their lives and I would reward it.

Then I would work on that nice sports car and $300,000 house I have been wanting in the country area of South Lyon/Novi area.

Invest a million into a fund to collect interest where I could live on it on interest alone.

Then I would have a major fuckin party that lasts the whole weekend, beers, food, and women are all on me! hehe

Won't you get smooshed flat?

(sorry, couldn't resist!)

Yes, in addition to my list above I would have a major party for all as well.

Depends on where everything is placed! A well-balanced load can be handled :p

The wife and I have talked about it many times. Money no object...

We would build a small self sufficient community.

At least 3 windmills for main power all fed into a bank of battery's. They have pretty good solar water heaters out now. Solar panels... heat exchanger and some water and we have a freezer and fridge.

We would also be growing most of our food in the garden and groves.

I'd also have 50,000 gallons of gas and diesel in underground tanks. and a 20 foot reinforced concrete wall around the whole place.

signed split of ticket w/ gf

then depending on how much there is:

pay off my debts

fix my truck

take classes for and buy a bike

move to the east coast

continue working and go back to school

vacation somewhere at least twice a year for at least two weeks in each place

w/ the help of a financial planner and a lawyer:

offer either a one time lump sum or a modest home to specific friends and family

invest

start a investment program for low-income families

Buy a new house, get a mobile home......go on a few trips......

Help out certain family members that are worth it....

Maybe a foster family in need who takes in lots of kids. I don't want to raise anymore but I would help someone who is doing it themselves.
