Msterbeau Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 "I'm as comfortable in jeans as I am in a dress* Is it just me or are there a lot of women completely devoid of imagination and writing ability when it comes to describing themselves? (To be fair, I'd be willing to bet it's the same, or worse, on the men's side.) I'm surprised I didn't post this topic eons ago...

Fierce Critter Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I only ever did the personals thing once, in my mid 20's, when I was feeling lonely and desperate. I only posted in the Metro Times. And with them, you record a voice mail for people to call, and they hear a message and leave one for you. In my recorded message, I always included "I am not a hardbody." My way of saying I was fat without saying something like "I lean towards Rubenesque" or "Think of me as zaftig." That was a hard one to deal with. How to admit to not being a Playboy centerfold without sounding too self-depricating. The sad part, however, were the guys I got along with great on the phone - who upon meeting me in person, suddenly couldn't make conversation. :( Personals ads suck.
sass_in_the_pants Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I think it's funny when people say that they like to have a good time. OH! That's a good way to differentiate yourself from those other people...who don't like to have a good time.

I used "as comfortable in jeans and a t as I am dressed to the nines" in the past when I tried the internet dating thing and I believe it is very accurate! Of course, I had a lot more than just that, but I did include it in my description.

SuZQZ Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 My best friend once came across a profile headline that read "Can't hit the ball if nobody's pitching". We still quote that and ROFL over it!
Homicidalheathen Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Try hearing that from a potential MALE suitor.
