LMFAO!!

I sure do remember going to the store with a note. I also remember DRIVING there, when I was about 9 or 10 years old!

What about the days when folks just piled all their heathen into the vehicle, wherever they would fit-- no seatbelts or anything!

My dad usually had an open beer, too!

If your folks had a truck, you rode Mexican in the bed! :p

I soooooo loved riding in the back of the truck.....

My uncle always had a beer for the road.....

Another thing that does not exist.....Gas for .79c /gal.....

That's what it was when I first started driving.....Now I know I am getting old, but it was not that long ago.....

Full-cut clothing off the rack (easily taken in or let out)

Good sturdy brassieres.

Metal garter clips on suspender belts.

Good corset busks that stay STIFF and the clips don't bust off of.

That good sort of cotton jersey (t-shirt) material that gets paper thin through subsequent washing, but never gets holes in it.

Shrinkidinks.

KLUTZ books has a Shrinky-Dinks book... check their website! Or you can just have mine since I've had it for at least 2 yrs & have yet to use it.

Those Ore-Ida Microwavable french fries in a box

Don't know if they're the ones you're thinking about, but I buy boxed microwave fries by yes, Ore-Ida, at Meijer.

"Full service" at the filling station.

There's a full service BP about 3 blocks from me. They even wash your windshield. Expensive but I went there a lot for a while when a relative loaned me her BP card.

Anyway:

45 record adapters

Close 'n' Play record players

Shoe button hooks

P.F. Flyers sneakers

Wrigley (supermarket chain)

White Tower and Top Hat (White Castle competitors)

Chex Breakfast Mix

Tasmanian wolves

the Michigan Palace

the Olympia

Clutch Cargo's (original downtown)

Bob-Lo

Edgewater Park

Etruscans

All those TV shows from that other thread

Thought about including Marie Laveau and Hunter S. Thompson... but... on reflection, people who've left their mark on the world artistically or otherwise have an existence that goes far beyond the physical.
