MALCOMXBLISS Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Me and some friends have a band and we want to include a cover or 2 on a new album we're working on. We've currently recorded 2 for it but of course might use neither. We've done some covers in the past and generally don't stick too close to the original, but they are usually at least recognizable. The 2 we have currently recorded are "Time of the Season" by the ZOMBIES and THREE DOG NIGHTS classic "One is the Lonliest Number. Anybody got any ideas. We'd like to keep it something before say 1975.

MALCOMXBLISS Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 Everyone knows that if you want to make it big, cover an 80's classic. Orgy did "Blue Monday", Manson did... well, a bunch... ya know, I think "Turning Japanese" has yet to have a nationally-reknown cover.Yeah. "Turning Japanese" by the Vapors If making it big was even anywhere in the plan we'd be doing a whole different thing. "Turning Japanese" intigues me. A couple of covers we did on old releases were "In-a-gadda-da-vida" and "I Can See For Miles" by the WHO. You might be able to find them somewhere on the world wide web for your listening pleasure.
Falstaff Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I Don't Like Mondays by The Boomtown Rats. You get 'controversial' and 'ballady goodness' all in one.
