I just don't understand how things can be so backwards around here. Once again I have gone out with the girls from work and once agan it was a disaster! People around here have never even heard of the music that I listen to! I requested White Zombie and they played like 30 seconds of it before it got booooood out! The girls that I work with have never even heard of the Misfits! How can 45 minutes of drive time make such a difference?!!! So gotta get out of here! Sorry, had to rant. Later

What's wrong with Toledo?

OK seriously, I had a friend who lived down there (till her recent demise). She loved EBM and complained that the kids down there were too into the metal-industrial scene. Maybe you're just not hitting the right clubs.

I take a run down to Toledo once in a while to hit the mall that has a Torrid store in it. It also has a Chick-Fil-A, which we had in North Carolina but don't have in Michigan, and a Golden Corral, which for the sort of nasty bunch-of-fat-fucks-cramming-their-faces-with-cholesterol-laden-crap buffet restaurant it is, actually has some pretty good food.

But otherwise, I find Toledo to be a dismally poor seeming city. Reminds me of Fayetteville in NC. A few good places to shop and eat, but you wouldn't want to live there.

I can't really speak to Toledo, as I've only ever driven through it, and not, you know, actually stopped there. But I imagine it could be worse.

For example, go to maps.google.com. Do a search for Bonduel, WI. That's where I'm from. I shudder at the smallness. And the boredom. And the cow pastures.
