Just got this book

Spooky Michigan

And a ghost hunting I go......

There was another one there though and it claimed werewolves in Detroit.

Ok, I am onto you.........I know who you are. :Poke:sofa:

I saw the lady of the lake at least thats what I thought it was, on Lake St Clair.......I thought it was a water sprite or something.....according to this it was a ghost.

There is rumor you can see this if you park and turn off your lights and sit at night on Belle isle. Do they even let you stay that late on it?

Don't know if I have the guts......not the spirits I am afraid of........its the people. They turn into werewolves lol

Eloise is/was a classic. Haven't been there in 7 years. Got a very clear evp one night. wish I could find the tape.

Rumor has is you could hear growling noises near the playground there. That is one thing I regret not investigating.

The top few floors of the last standing Eloise building is reported to be haunted. I watched a news report on it years ago, apparently the people that work there hear the elevator doors open and close on at the top floors even though those floors are not in use. There have also been reports that lights go on and off in rooms that aren't being used.

I'll tell you this - I lived on the north/west side of the cemetery across the street from there and there was more than one creepy incidence that happened in my residence. Nothing harmful but more or less just someone (or more) letting me know they were also around.

I have never really had any luck hunting around anywhere. When I was 12 I was in a childrens home in detroit and I saw a woman walking in front of me in a otherwise empty building and it wasnt a split second thing either she was in plain view for a few seconds I saw a few other things while there but nothing as good as that.Shadowlands.net has a bunch of so called haunted areas but I havent seen anything in the spots they say in fact they note one playground that used to be a 2 minute walk away from me as being one of the most freaky places there is and that nobody should go there at night but I have spent many drunkin nights on the swings there before even reading the story and had no problems there. I think the best way to find something is really just to not look to intently for it I wasnt expecting anything when I was 12 and that will probally be just about the only time I ever see a ghost which is fine by me because seeing one full body like that is a very rare thing. But its always better to just let it happen and not get to worked up over it because if you do then you will probally just end up beliving anything is a sign of a haunting when it isnt (oh sure nobody has been in this building for years but thats not dust showing up on the camera its "orbs"). Go to a place that is said to be haunted hang out for a few hours records some stuff take a few pictures but dont be to upset if you come up empty handed because if hauntings were like clockwork then we would already have undenyable proof of ghost.

Here is a link to a website called Shadowland. It lists each state but my link is for Michigan. http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/michigan.htm

There used to be a website which is now gone that talked about the legend of the Michigan Dogman, a werewolf legend near Cass City and Caro. It had reports that dated back to the 1700's.

A friend of mine used to live in Caro he says that his mom and older sister had a bigfoot sighting there years ago so theres always a chance of that being around too.

I'm big into the paranormal..but...sheepishly I must ask...what is Eloise? I've never heard of that one, and I thought I knew where most of the haunted places in Michigan were.

Maybe not in Michigan

but any where with this dude is spooky / creepy

The Cemetary in Evart is odd. The tombstones glow faintly and on really dark nights the ground seems to have a glowing mist that swirls around... but mist isn;t the correct word... you ahve to see it to know what I mean. MSU has sent people up to figure out why but they came up with nothing.

Eloise was the Wayne county "poor house". It was also a hospital and where the crazy people of the area were kept.

Gotcha...I looked it up and realized I knew what they were talking about, but just didn't know the name. I believe it's been torn down though...am I correct? Not ALL of the buildings but a good portion, I've never actually seen the place in real life, only in pictures (it's allllll the way on the westside and there are haunted places around here I can check out for less gas) The cemetary behind it is supposed to be haunted, almost worse than the hospital was itself.

The Michigan Seamless Tube Mill in South Lyon(covers 65 acres) would definately be a scary place to go into at night,I know exactly how to sneak in.and yes several ppl have died there in industrial accidents in the past.

I used to attend Central Michigan University and there were quite a few places and dorms that are supposedly haunted around there, I wasnt able to witness it myself however.

The seal in the middle of the campus is said to be haunted by two lovers that were supposed to meet there and never did and they say if you walk through the seal you will have bad luck on the next test you have or whatever. Never tried. LOL

There was also another building where when they were done building it there was an upside down cross in the bricks. They tried tearing the bricks out to replace it so the cross wasnt there anymore, but it just came back.

Another building has a flower garden shaped like a piano where they say no flowers will grow because a body of a student was buried there.

A dorm that was torn down was said to be haunted by a student who fell out of an upstairs window.

Another building a worker on the top floor died and they shut the top floor down but every so often it is said that there are lights on in the top floor of that building.

I wish that I could have had a chance to see these things but alas not everyone does.

I lived in and around Mt. P most of my life and never saw those things.

The really creepy stuff happened in the original CMU building... which was Downtown... um... Do you know where The Bird is? That block... on the northern corner was a 5 story building... that was the original site for CMU.. that one building. It's an empty lot now... the place burned down about 5 or 6 years ago due to a drunk falling asleep while smoking...

Cool ghost pics...not sure on the authenticity of all of them, but a good amount definately aren't fakes.

used to be a forum called ghostzoo and a shit ton of places were listed....

and info and input from members

how i miss that

i broke into a factory on mill street in ecorse with that site altho not haunted...its kind of odd goinginto an old unused factory other than storage going into an office and seeing all 4 walls completly coverd in porn and the naughty parts painted off with red paint...except for the one black girl... hers wasnt painted.... we left but it was fun

uhm my grandma has 16 acres of woods in sumpter that have a ghost no one will tell me the story but a suicide has been acknowladged

... i dont go back there anymore iether becouse i have a 40 year old hillbilly cousin who lives back there in a tent and grows things he shouldnt but thats besides the point...

ive had experiances there where ive taken freinds down the main stretch and they felt instantly like they were being choked and wanted to leave... ive sat and had mulitiple bonfires back there things only seem to happen when i have more than me tho if im back there by myself its really quiet and peacefull minus the time i fell asleep in the car and woke up to a guy in a chicken suit on the hood of my car.....

but if i have a few people some shit does go down weve had acorns thrown at us from a trees when none of the trees back there have acorns.. one time i was sitting with my friend maggie back there we were going to drink but she got spooked when something started hissing like an alligator it wasnt a cat or snake hiss it was distinctivly like an alligator then when i said something and i put fluid on the fire we heard two metal pipes clang against eachother no more than ten feet away behind us both and there was nothing out there at all we both heard it she got scared so we left..and at times when i have people back there you can tellyou are clearly not welcome

Proly all built up and non-creepy these days but in high school we used to drive down Denton road late at night. (near/in canton)

You could drive forever (and the road was not that long when I drove it during the day last time I was in town) And the blinking red light at the stop behind you would never really get farther away. And the blinking yellow light in front of you would never really get closer. Kinda strange.

Also there was supossed to be an abandoned cemetary in the woods where a guy was hit by lightning walking hid dog one night. Guess you are supposed to hear him and his dog there around midnight. But I think the cemetary is on private property. Was never able to find it other than the Denton cemetary in town. (if you can call it a town)

Also there was a cemetary in Farmington that you could park your car near the end of the drivway by the road. Shut off the engine and put it in neutral and wait. Your car would get pushed up the hill out into the road. Went there one night, it also had the "strange mist" near the ground. Kinda like fog but not quite.

Wish I could remember more details on that one. I think it was on Farmington road near downtown Farmington.

My family has a haunting in its past from the late 1800s. On good nights when its not too cold, it will attract a dozen or two people out to the cemetery in Jackson overnight. Its happening starting tomorrow night (Thanksgiving Eve) until early morning Thanksgiving. The story can be read here. MzDeadlySpell and I are going to go check it out. If anyone else wanted information about it you can send me a message. Its on the west side of Jackson near Hanover Horton if you know where that is. Its a very small cemetery and sometimes old family members show up for the event. Used to be a big party since locals and the local college told about it in history.
