Health Clubs In Royal Oak

I would love some guidance.

I have decided to buy a family membership to a health club here in Royal Oak as a family holiday gift. We could all use some decent exercise (especially me. I need to lose the 20 fucking lbs that I have gained since moving here!) I want something near enough to where Ian and Sierra can bike to it. It HAS to be a club where a 14 and 12-year-old are accepted. One with yoga classes and the like, as well as a weight room.

Thanks!

I took those when I lived in B-more, but wrecked my left knee! I would love to do those classes again. But, my meaty ass needs to go to the gym....

pffft girl you dont' got no meaty butt (I checked it when we were walking) and even if you did that beats Bony Butt (I hate that, man) ANY day hands down.

 Take my meaty ass + stomach with you! I hit an all time low (or rather high should I say, scale wise)...today....I was so fat today....I buttoned my pants and the button ricocheted right off of them - faster than a speeding bullet! Almost took out Gitzie...

Alright...back to all for seriousness-time. Actually...if you want a place that accepts/encourages families with kids, check out the YMCA. They always have full weights (brand new), tons of cardio (eliptical, bike, treads, stair masters), classes (pilates, yoga, kickboxing, etc), basketball courts, volleyball, tennis, AND a sauna (even FAMILY saunas that you can check out by the hour, for free I believe, since the traditional ones are man/woman segregated ones for obvious reasons, since old creepy people get newd in 'em). They're fairly reasonably priced and if I'm not mistaken (it's been awhile since I was a corner kid at Fourth & Main St. ) there's one on 11 Mile before you get to Woodward (going west on 11). I used to belong to the Y with my mom in Mt. Clemens when I was 14-16 I think, but then she had work issues and took a huge pay cut, so we had to cancel.

*siiiigh* I miss my gym, mine was more for college kids (Fitness 19), none of that fancy stuff (pretty much just cardio, weights, and a changing room), but it was only $15 a month and if you're only going there to be manly and lift weights to make the other dudes look like girls....wellll....then it's worth every penny (until you're poor like me to the point where even $15 a month becomes too much). Now I'm back on the Dance Dance Rev weight loss plan, which is where I started in the first place

I hear Luna has a great liquid diet. :D

That's what you get for moving to one of the fattest states in the union.

I'm checking out the Y tomorrow while I'm off. I think my son could use some sort of outlet for his frustrations, other than his sister.

Thanks, Marc! I'm still going to go for a tour, though.
