I'll agree that Tool is really cool, however they've only ever written one song, but it's a really good song. They just every so often change the name of it.

"Oh shit no one agrees with me, the people here suck, I'm leaving"

Fine pack up your toys and go home.

But remember if you do that, then no one will hear your side of things.

If I did that I'd have been gone YEARS ago. No one really comments on anything I say, which means everyone either agrees (unlikely), or no one gives a shit (most probable explanation), or some are scared I'll blow holes in their theories and prove them wrong and in the process of doing so belittle them (because it's fun and I really am an asshole like that, without even really trying).

That Slipknot shirt.. the awesome looking blue one with all the crazy shit on it,

everyone has it.

It's in your closet whether you know it or not, you have it, your relatives have it, your pets have it. It's just one of those things that over-circulated, captured children, charged batteries, and threatened the environment. I wish I would've never bought one back when I did in High School, I can't get rid of it either, it follows me...

I don't listen to Slipknot too much anymore, I'm a bigger fan of Mushroomhead. But I don't listen to Metal a whole lot since most of the bands I like I've just played to death. I'm to lazy and broke to go up to Harpos and see Mushroomhead live, lol.

i have that shirt

i have that shirt

We already knew that

Slipknot formed in 1990 and thats when most of thier songs were written. They didn't have stable lineup until 1995 which also happens to be the year they finally released a demo.

Because fans of Slipknot aka "maggots" have all the same merchandise.

This right here:

'Tis a generally true statement, every Slipknot fan I've ever known (note that I haven't known any since high school though and I've been out for four years) has that same shirt. It's almost like a law of musical science or something. Fandom of Slipknot = That shirt.

OK I'll admit that wiki isn't the best source for information since anyone can edit it.

However it would be nice if you would cite your reference(s) for your information.

Well, the only problem I have with Slipknot is that they, and their fans all think that their music is actually "metal" ... which it clearly is not. Don't get me wrong, it is heavy and hard, but is most certainly NOT METAL. And I also do not like the satanic imagery they started using recently... they are trying to appear 'evil' which is completely a commercial stunt, brought about by the rise in popularity of black/death metal (real metal).

So again, for what they do, they sure have alot of fans.. but once again, they are NOT Metal... and that is why I hate them,

Very valid point. It's kinda like how Evanescence is "goth" .

And anyone with a brain cell knows that they are NOT goth. They're lame. Maybe they should join up with Slipknot.....

priceless.

this is EXACTLY what I think about them, which is why they bore the shit out of me.....

I always have to crack up when I watch people try to define what is and is not a particular genre of music....in this case what's really "metal" ....... all I can add to that idea is the following:

A) get on a stage fuckers and show us posers how its really done

B) write a song bitches and let yourself be judged

C) get your shit on the radio a few times and learn how hard that really is to do before you talk about selling out and what is and aint real and the like....

and then a few notes to consider you bad asses:

you sick today? got a fever feel like shit your throat is blown your back hurts your car broke down your drummer is a dick you didint really learn your parts yet and your instrument is a turd?

the show must go on punk ass, and dont waste my money.

and by the way slipnot and all these other evil geniuses all owe Alice Cooper their careers.

and might I also add that "Heavy" is an attitude, it aint a drop D tuning on a 7 string and blast beats and indiscipherable grunting to make you sound like your getting buttfucked by Satan while you wear black face paint and you live in your mom's basement you fucking pussies.

if something is cool its cool, if it grooves it grooves, if its heavy its heavy....you dont have to explain it or justify it or god help you VALIDATE it.

REAL metal. jeez christ. to me that's REAL stupid.

My sentiments exactly, but try to convince preppy people of this or those "goth dabblers" as I call them (i.e. preppy girls with spooooky black nailpolish, extra eyeliner, and a forced sorrowful attitude). People wonder why I'm so frustrated all the time  if only you knew the people I'm surrounded by daily...

We....we don't have pints of beer here. Just ask Head Wreck or Saint Germain, they found that out quickly  (I'm sure were warned and knew ahead of time, but still...) Not pickin' on you, just being a dork, which is a full time profession if you do it right.

wait, what happened with the pint of beer?

okay, I'll raise my tankard of rum!
