Homicidalheathen Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Detroit made top dangerous city! Go, you badass mutha fucka's. Followed by Flint. Motor City Named Nation's Most Dangerous By DAVID N. GOODMAN The Associated Press Monday, November 19, 2007; 6:21 AM DETROIT -- In another blow to the Motor City's tarnished image, Detroit pushed past St. Louis to become the nation's most dangerous city, according to a private research group's controversial analysis, released Sunday, of annual FBI crime statistics. The study drew harsh criticism even before it came out. The American Society of Criminology launched a pre-emptive strike Friday, issuing a statement attacking it as "an irresponsible misuse" of crime data. Who's Blogging» Links to this article The 14th annual "City Crime Rankings: Crime in Metropolitan America" was published by CQ Press, a unit of Congressional Quarterly Inc. It is based on the FBI's Sept. 24 crime statistics report. The report looked at 378 cities with at least 75,000 people based on per-capita rates for homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and auto theft. Each crime category was considered separately and weighted based on its seriousness, CQ Press said. Last year's crime leader, St. Louis, fell to No. 2. Another Michigan city, Flint, ranked third, followed by Oakland Calif.; Camden, N.J.; Birmingham, Ala.; North Charleston, S.C.; Memphis, Tenn.; Richmond, Calif.; and Cleveland. The study ranked Mission Viejo, Calif., as the safest U.S. city, followed by Clarkstown, N.Y.; Brick Township, N.J.; Amherst, N.Y.; and Sugar Land, Texas. CQ Press spokesman Ben Krasney said details of the weighting system were proprietary. It was compiled by Kathleen O'Leary Morgan and Scott Morgan, whose Morgan Quitno Press published it until its acquisition by CQ Press. The study assigns a crime score to each city, with zero representing the national average. Detroit got a score of 407, while St. Louis followed at 406. The score for Mission Viejo, in affluent Orange County, was minus 82. Detroit was pegged the nation's murder capital in the 1980s and has lost nearly 1 million people since 1950, according to the Census Bureau. Downtown sports stadiums and corporate headquarters _ along with the redevelopment of the riverfront of this city of 919,000 _ have slowed but not reversed the decline. Officials have said crime reports don't help... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...7111900134.html

Homicidalheathen Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 L.A. Needs more riots.....looting...... Fires..... You may have us topped there. Eh you'll never catch up cause we are bad ass.
Destroit Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I think we need another riot in order to seal the deal.... You all think I'm joking don't you? Not to say I'd be the one who starts it...but as goth-city of America I'd say we just got gothier in the danger category and a riot would cement that title in place. People around here are always "I wish Detroit was nicer" and I tell them to move to Chicago I like Detroit because....Danger is my middle name (plus the ambience and abandoned buildings are just so pretty). Don't like the "big bad scary city"? Move. It's been this way since 1967, and it's not going nowhere anytime soon (hopefully).
Destroit Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Eh you'll never catch up cause we are bad ass. All hail the 313-Badazz-Ridas Crew (which would so be our gang name if DGN was actually in Detroit and uhmm we were all like rollin'...with...uhmmm our crew/homies? I'm so not good at this thug stuff anymore...I can only decipher it, not speak it The only thing I know for sure...is that pimpin' ain't easy, unless you're A Pimp Named Slickback, then you know where all your bitches at)
ttogreh Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I don't think I could ever be mistaken for hard-core, what with my pale skin of my European ancestors, my perfect diction, and my home in Washtenaw county.... Still, Detroit is dangerous, half because it is, and half because we SAY it is....
nilhil_glory Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 well... i had a crazy ass dream last night that ties into this... it was there was another riot in detroit but this time like it was the homeless. and they were shooting like everyone it was weird it was like an army of homless people with guns walking around the area around st. andrews i dont think it helps immediatly after the report was filed someone burned down 4 houses on the same block and a decapitated body was found in a man hole All hail the 313-Badazz-Ridas Crew (which would so be our gang name if DGN was actually in Detroit and uhmm we were all like rollin'...with...uhmmm our crew/homies? I'm so not good at this thug stuff anymore...I can only decipher it, not speak it The only thing I know for sure...is that pimpin' ain't easy, unless you're A Pimp Named Slickback, then you know where all your bitches at) hahaha i dub you the official dgn pimp translator
Ice Queen (1) Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I must be drawn to danger. I grew up and spent my young adult years in Los Angeles, I work in Flint, and if I want to have any fun in an atmosphere I like, I go to Detroit. hmmmm
