Neptunebaby Posted November 20, 2007 Author Posted November 20, 2007 Neither of those games are coming out in january. Yeah, I got that from the other thread. Thanks for keeping me up to date though.
Rayne Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 We got a Ps3. Kept it for not even 24 hours and returned it for an X-Box 360. Sony really hurt themselves big time.

We're definitely getting an xBox 360, but it will probably be sometime next year. There are only a few games that I really like for the xBox, but my husband loves a lot of the xBox games. For now we'll have to continue living with the plain old xBox we have.

Sorry if I seem like a bit of a killjoy trust me I want to play these games just as much as the next person mainly silent hill 5 sadly I wont have a ps3 anytime soon but by the time the games actually come out I should have one. With any real luck Ill have one by the time devil may cry 4 comes out.

With any real luck Ill have one by the time devil may cry 4 comes out. No worries. My husband loves the Devil May Cry series. I'm really bummed because I was expecting the games to be out late next year and my husband is the one that misread that info about January. I figured it was far too good to be true, but haven't had the time to research for myself. I'm glad you pointed it out to me before I was killing someone at GameStop after the holidays. I live for the RE installments and Silent Hill is right behind that. Where do you find the best/most recent info on the games? I am always searching like a mad woman and only find bits and pieces of info here and there. Is there a specific source you have? Would love to know!
Slept with ghost Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Well gameinformer magazine is where I out most stuff though the sh5 info was from ecm magazine. Neither of those 2 games were given dates yet but the earliest is late 08 (if anything expect sh5 to come out first) g4tv.com is also a pretty good site as far as games go plus you can always check out the site for the companys that make the games (capcom for re and dmc and konami for sh) in the meantime there is a new silent hill game on the psp and a remake of the first resident evil on the ds which I am playing right now. I cant comment on how good the silent hill is but the resident evil is well.........its the first resident evil so if you liked it on the ps then theres no reason you wouldnt on the ds.

I get Game Informer, but haven't seen much about RE5 or SH5 in the last issue. I guess I'll just come to you for all the gaming info. I knew about the games on PSP and the DS, but I'm not really into the hand held games. Thanks for letting me know though.

LOL, we have the regular old one too. You know what else sucked for Sony? We paid quite a bit of money for the PS3, The stuff we wanted to play on Ps2 (we don't have a Ps2) would not work on the Ps3. Also, $99 extra for the HDMI cables for our big fancy flat panel tv. Microsoft put them HDMI cables in the box with the Elite system we bought ... and we bought games and a second wireless controller ... AND we still ended up $20 cheaper than JUST the Ps3 system with no extras. Sony sucks until they get more games out for the Ps3, or they make ALL the Ps2 games backwards compatible. They REALLY dug themselves a deep one with those issues. For now, I'll buy a $79 used Ps2 at Gamestop and continue to play my PSP and my regular X-Box. And bask in the glory of Forza 2 on my X-Box 360. (sorry, that whole Sony/Microsoft thing bugged me for days before we bought, then we switched them .... grrr it was traumatic)

We're getting the 80 gig and I think most of the games are backward compatible. The fortunate thing for us is that we have a PS2 so anything that isn't we can still play. Glad you got the system you wanted!

All of them said they weren't compatible, right on the screen. After talking to some people we found out only the 60 gb is backwards compatible and they are selling out their stock and not making it anymore, so it's REALLY hard to find. They actually said that the 80 gb is the one with the most backwards compatiblity issues.

Its never a good idea to use the current gen system to play last gen games because as you can already tell it really only causes problems do buying a used ps2 was a good idea. As far as the ps3 needing more games go I think its only fair to say that all 3 next gen consoles need more the only reason the 360 has more out now then the wii or ps3 is because it came out a year ahead of them. The reason I want a ps3 over a 360 is because the ps3 has been out for a year now and they are still making and plan on making for the next 2 years more ps2 games so I can say without a doubt that when the ps4 comes out there will still be years if use I can get out of my ps3. The xbox on the other hand came out in 2002 and stoped having games made for it within months of the 360 coming out in 2005 which gave it a life span of less then 4 years. Now I know that the 360 will have a longer life span then 4 years but what I dont know is if microsoft is going to do the same thing and pull the plug on the 360 a few months after their next console comes out.

odims_sphere Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I'd love to have a PS3 or a XBOX 360, however right now I'm having a hard enough time making house payments. Can't really justify losing my home for an XBOX... Priorities I guess.

LOL

Necromanta Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 What's amusing is that the 360 has more hardware problems and turnover rates than the PS3. (The "red ring of death" to be exact. ) They hardly fucked themselves considering that Sony were being sold out by Wii from about 6 to 1 to about 2 to 1 in Japan a couple months ago. Now; just recently, they outsold the Wii in November. (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/838/838768p1.html) The recession definitely has started. I know 360s are definitely up to par with the sales Wii's and considering that; it would make PS3 #1 that month. (Not including the D.S. Lite) ("At the bottom of the chart was the Xbox 360, which sold 35,000 units.") (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/838/838768p1.html) Just wait, the PS3 is definitely on a rise. They are starting to get exclusives again and by that point; they'll probably start to take over the industry, considering the 40 gig is only $399. Fuck backwards compatibility, (Not to mention the 360 already can't play most Xbox games) I already have a PS2 to play my games on. And your 360 definitely doesn't come with a blue ray DVD player. And with Final Fantasy 13's two different versions, Resident Evil 5, Dark Sector, Silent Hill 5,Metal Gear Solid 4, Home,Unreal Tournament III, Folklore, and a vast array of other exclusives; this upcoming year will be quite interesting. (Btw: I don't own a PS3 and do have a 360. It's just better to keep your information straight.)
