What To Do With The Spare Parts

Just wondering if theres a place or what that accepts old,or broken down laptops,since a buddy of mine is getting ahold of one that he built,let alone upgrading it,the mother board on the one I am currently using has a short in it,he is thinking of swapping the harddrive,if its any good,but the screen still works just the mother board is about shot.let alone I know there are other parts on here that are good,just wonder,or its just going in the trash like most electronics that I no longer need.

Goodwill takes WORKING computers. Check with computers shops and places like Office Depot and such.. some will take them top be recycled. Now, kep inmind, that they are shipped to 3rd world country and people are paid sqaut to take them apart with no saety measures in place.
