Last night was DEAD there.

The weather wasn't even bad, it was just drivers that forgot how to drive.

And since I actually went I figure I would make the post about it. Although, I must say, that I did have a good time last night. Saw only a handful of DGNers.

Thanks for starting the topic Candy!! *bows*

The weather was really bad around here, so Nicole and myself weren't able to attend. :(

the lack of a functioning car hamperd my ability to attend...

however had my car been functioning i would have been there

me and a few of my freinds spent most of 11 pm to 1 am trying to find a ride

but people we know are wussy and if its not the weather its the fact the place is in detroit... :verymad:

and we all know

no matter where you go indetroit ... other than for a sports game

you will get attacked....

I very, very seriously intended to go. I touched-up my hair, finished my shopping EARLY so I wasn't rushing home at the last minute having to get ready and go without rest.

But while I was out shopping, I came out of the mall to find it had already been snowing a while. Didn't bother me - until I got behind the wheel. OMFG.

I've lived in Michigan nearly my entire life. And have driven a dozen or so cars in inclement weather. I'm the type that disconnects antilock brakes because I handle winter driving fine without assistance, thank you. But we just bought this minivan used a few months ago. Every freaking stop - skid. Every takeoff - skid. Every turn - skid. And this was before the really slick stuff fell.

I wonder of putting a lot of weight in back will help. NOt sure if it's front or rear-wheel drive, though.

In any case, I was anxious to finally get out there. But not stupid. Not only did I seriously doubt the handling of this vehicle, but others in newer vehicles were having just as much trouble. And I trust THEM even less than I trust this van.

I won't let it stop me every time. But last night, I didn't want to chance it.

Glad it was fun, Candy.

I finally went to the family doc, who diagnosed me with a nasty bacterial bronchitis. This after self-treating with heavy-duty cold remedies for a week & a half.

I was the walking wounded or else I would have brought a friend & joined you guys!

Next week, maybe?

:fun:

Great night in spite of being a very light crowd. It did make for good dancing.

Actually it wasn't DEAD, DEAD...

growing a little irritated with people thinking that if every single one of their friends isn't in attendance or we're pulling in 666 people that the place is DEAD. Some nights are going to be like that, you make the best out of it and entertain the people who are there.

sure, it was a little quieter than a normal Saturday due to the weather, but both J9 and myself were surprised that by 1:30 the dance floor was considerably busy despite mother nature being her bitch self.

Appreciate those who did come out and have fun, but understand those who also played it safe and stayed in.

I drive to and from Ann Arbor to DJ there and yeah sometimes I think I'm insane for doing so - last night especially on the drive in.

Hopefully many of you will be out next Friday and Saturday.

Be well...

Oh yeah, BTW... Mega kudos for the great set last night!

It was a decent enough night, until I realized I left my frakking cell phone there. Gah.

FC bowing out was my excuse to not go back out into the crappy weather after my company dinner. Oh... and some lovins and snuggle time.

Wow. The fact that my non-presence is an excuse to not go somewhere is both complimentary and humbling...

I understand if you did come out because you just flat out know your car couldn't make it. But I'm talking about the stupids that where on the side of the road, or the stupids going 15 mph on 96.

I don't know if I can go next week. Odims has to work.

If going alone is the issue, and my Jon has to work, too, perhaps I can pick you up and we can go together?

So long as you wouldn't have a problem riding in a minivan that sounds like a swarm of locusts going down the road. We really need a new belt...

I got no prob going alone. I've gone to CC by myself, and met up with Odims there Christmas 2005. Thanks tho!

It was a good night. I met up with with some old friends and some new ones. The night took an unexpected twist but it was a good one. I hope to see everyone again soon.

I will just say that I had a great time, in spite of the paucity of people, and my (very) occasional extreme frustration at not being able to dance.
