Homicidalheathen Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Described as a cubano americano lol....pitbull ~ 411 'go girl' *help me* I am actually watching this just to laugh. What a stupid video.
Destroit Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Whichever has that fakey Jamaican guy in it, whichever Jamaican guy there's probably a few, making incoherrent babble in the background of pop/rap songs with thick overtones of an accent. This describes probably 78% of the songs currently being looped (yes, looped, over...and over...and over again) on channel 95.5. You all know who I'm talkin' bout.
Fierce Critter Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Any and all. I just never got into the genre.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 18, 2007 Author Posted December 18, 2007 That one I was watching last night had the worst sounds......some bells and a hoot thing over and over....horrible.....the beat was real plain. I don't hate ALL Rap, but even I can tell when its baaad. And I don't listen to it much.
CandyQuackenbush Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Any and all. I just never got into the genre. That's what I was going to say. That whole genre is fucking stupid.
Der Nister Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I'd rather be strung upside down for eternity then listen to that crap.
Hellion Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Rap is crap,Mostly that gangsta bullshit wanna be garbage what they I guess call music.IMO Where I work, this annoying music is not allowed to be played at all,my boss will never allow it. don't even get me started on this one,LOL!!!!
Destroit Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 OH OH I have one! I love Daft Punk, if it's anything that I listen to aside from industrial/ebm it's techno-techno (anything but that cheesy trance kind of bullshit, gimme some good house or something anyday). There's this one, I don't know WHO sings it, but he needs to die in a drive-by already. Basically he took the song "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"...and rapped over it. That's it...just rapped, added like a few extra lines of oontz oontz into the background sample of Daft Punk's song, but basically just rapped over the whole thing. What makes my blood come to a good boil is the fact that there's probably a whole slew of little thugs and preps thinking that it's original and oh so GENIUS! I hate rap artists that sample everyone's shit and have yet to write an actual note themselves *coughcoughpdiddycough* Busta Rhymes did the same thing with Daft Punk's song "Technologic", made it sound like SHIT, and even my boyfriend was fooled into thinking that Busta came up with the "Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, Trash it, change it, melt - upgrade it, Charge it, pawn it, zoom it, press it, Snap it, work it, quick - erase it, Write it, cut it, paste it, save it, Load it, check it, quick - rewrite it, Plug it, play it, burn it, rip it, Drag and drop it, zip - unzip it, Lock it, fill it, call it, find it, View it, code it, jam - unlock it, Surf it, scroll it, pose it, click it, Cross it, crack it, twitch - update it, Name it, read it, tune it, print it, Scan it, send it, fax - rename it, Touch it, bring it, pay it, watch it, Turn it, leave it, stop - format it." In the background....I quickly informed him otherwise . He even didn't believe me at first and I was like "look, I am qualified to state these things about Daft Punk, that's most of what Rachel (ex-bff) listened to"
Hellion Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Yeah I have always hated when a rock song or new wave song is turned into a rap tune,If I ever had my own band I would make sure to have my own label,to prevent this atrocity, fyi, have your own label then your music will never be made into a rap song,I think others here know what I am talking about. I heard a Boston tune done in rap I forgot which song it was,but it was very terrible. but that is what happens when your signed up with any of the big money hungry corrupt greedy music corporations, like Sony,Atlantic,etc,etc.etc.

Scales Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I really don't like anything by Soulja Boy, if you can even call it rap. Working with electronic music I started gaining respect for some rap.. I have to be in the mood for it.
Fierce Critter Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I want to say that my response was carefully worded to express that I myself am not into rap. But I don't necessarily think that, overall, it's crap. If hard-pressed to sit down and, with some aural reminders, make out a list of rap songs I do like, I would probably end up with a list about 10 songs or more long. But I will say that a lot of it would probably older, "only white people would like that song" rap. Such as Bust a Move by Young MC - that song will get my ass humping the dancefloor at ANY wedding reception. I did like Busta Rhyme's "What's it Gonna Be" with Janet Jackson, a song or two by Ludacris, etc. And I want EVERYONE to admit they like "Baby Got Back." 'Cause you know you do.
Hellion Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 We should all remember Two Live Crew, they were hilarious,LOL!!
Winter Steele Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 That song Every breath you take was done over by like PUFF DADDY I think. Yeah also that botty hole song my son sings constantly every day several times drives me bonkers
Head Wreck Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 i must admit. i am partial to the Goldie Lookin Chain ask Rayne how fantastic they are: The GLC - Your Missus Is A Nutter just for the wierd science homage and the ultimate, the song that shot them to fame, and i took to detroit to show welsh musical tallent The GLC - Your Mothers Got A Penis
Destroit Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 That song Every breath you take was done over by like PUFF DADDY I think. Yeah also that botty hole song my son sings constantly every day several times drives me bonkers Yeappp...Puff Daddy and some girl... It was done right after Biggie Smalls died as a memorial song to him, I think his wife sang in it too (Notorious B.I.G.'s), I'm not sure.
Fierce Critter Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 That would be Faith Evans, I believe. Biggie's wife. And though I am not partial to rap or hiphop, I did think they live version they did along with Sting on the Grammies or whatever award show it was was touching.

I was gonna say her, but I wasn't 100% on the name (that was the one I thought of though) since I'm not up on my 1997 rap singles, it's been awhile since I was 12. Thanks, that was gonna bug me all day.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 23, 2007 Author Posted December 23, 2007 Grrr! That one REALLY PISSED ME OFF. I mentioned he ripped someone off to like 5 younger persons who DIDN'T EVEN KNOW he didn't write that awesome main chorus line. AND he had the nerve to try to dance to it at some award show acting like it was all his in this white suit......he can't dance that good either. I think it was at the AMA'S. That song Every breath you take was done over by like PUFF DADDY I think. Yeah also that botty hole song my son sings constantly every day several times drives me bonkers
TrixieGothGirl Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 There are a few rap "songs" that I like but they're from Salt n Peppa & TLC. The rest is CRAP. Although THE worse one is "Ice, Ice Baby". GAWD, I HATE that "song". When that one came out, I was thinking, "someone please shoot that bastard".
