OK, so the year is almost half over. How are you doing meeting your goals for the year? And, how has the year been treating you? Good, bad, better or worse then the last?

Mine were:

I have more of determinations than resolutions. Since last year I accomplished what I needed to to allow myself to enjoy life, this year I am determined to live and enjoy it instead of just bobbing along with the day in and day out stuff. Some of the things I will be doing this year: going to an art museum (it's been way to long), enjoying more live music, definitely a symphony or opera or both this year, reading non-medical literature, socializing more, take a vacation, finding ways to express myself artistically, remembering my worth and not accepting less than I deserve. I want to try some new things too, not sure what yet, and I'm not just talking sexually, although that too. I definitely need to make more time for that. Boy, what a list, I better get off the damn computer and get to work! :yes

OK, I tried to go to an art museum several times, but things kept happening to prevent it. once, I even drove down, only to not be able to find it because of all the construction and detours, ugh! I am still determined. I have been enjoying some live music, but still no symphony or opera. I have been making more time to socialize, and for indulging carnal urges, although, my current location limits it, greatly. I'm working on that. I did finally take a vacation, boy I needed that. I went to Atlanta and spent some time with a dear, old friend. I loved being in the city. Now, I want to travel more. Besides writing a few naughty stories, I haven't yet explored my creative side, and I almost fell into accepting less than I deserve, but snapped out of it quickly, phew. Oh, and I still am only reading things related to my career field, fooey.

Geesh, I really need to get moving on these. I'm not doing to well at checking things off my "to do list".

Anybody want to go to the museum or symphony? Suggestions for collections of short stories or poetry to read? I have not the time or attention span for novels at this time.

Overall, the year has been pretty good to me. Definitely better then the last, which was better then the several before it. Now, if we can just keep it going in that direction.

well, if you're near k'zoo, i've been wanting to hit up our local art institute - let me know & i can check the hours... as for reading, all i could offer would be my poetry site, although i doubt there's much there you'd enjoy.

resolutions? well, if i made any, i'm sure i've failed them, because i haven't done shit so far... oh, well, still half a year to go, maybe i can still turn things around!?

heh.. I've been to the DIA and the DSO (Detroit Symphony Orchestra) it was fucking AWESOME..

It's hard to be trendy looking and go to the DIA because if you don't wear sneakers, it's HARD on your feet, especially since I love reading about all the art pieces, and pondering what the artist was thinking while painting/sculpting/etc. the different pieces.. I couldn't get through the whole place in one sitting. I would love to go again.

I also love the Park West Gallery .. they've got some WONDERFUL pieces.. and a few other places I've visited in the past. Call me up some time, I'd be down for going to other places.

As for the Symphony.. OMG I loved it.. Mozart's Violin Concerto #5 was MORE than amazing, also, I love wearing my Audrey Hepburn dress and pearls... :) (I'm such a geek). I have also wanted to go to the Opera, but haven't made it yet, so that would also be on my list of things to do. :)

We truly are two peas in a pod.. *HUGS*

No Way! I have a dress I wore and my friend said I looked like Audrey Hepburn! But, no pearls for me. And I can't even imagine how incredible the Mozart was. Do people still go formal to the opers? That would be so much fun! haha. What a pair we are
