How is it a good thing, less people will be able to attend. making them less money which will make them not want to come back.

Not necessarily, I know a lot of people over 21 who won't attend 18 and up events because of the younger people. In general they, (and I'm not saying they all fit this description), tend to be less mature, (obviously), in that they want to show just how hard they can party. Making them more rowdy, and less respectful to others. Also there is the select few who do their drinking before and in some cases as with a fake ID, during the event and again they feel the need to show just how hard they can party which leads to unplesantness.

of course this is just personal observation, and there are exceptions to every rule but for those reasons you could see why they would want to make it 21 and up and also why their sales probably wouldn't be impacted that much.

I am from detroit & moved to arizona 6 years ago. After being in Arizona for 2 years I moved to L.A.

After 2 years of that, I moved to New York. Realizing that the Grass is not always greener, I moved back to Detroit. It is my dream to someday own a nightclub. I have checked out many night clubs across the country & I have found that most of the time, 18 and over night clubs tend to be busier but go out of business more frequently. In the meantime the cool 21+ clubs stay in business & are moderately busy.

From going to clubs all across the country, my observation is this:

Generally, 18-20 year olds cause problems & don't have any money to spend.

21+ people have more money to spend & don't cause problems-thus, creating a positive atmosphere where more 21+ people will want to come back to.

If I wanted to own a night club that is 18 and up, I would probaby make good money for a short period of time. I should expect to stay in business for the short term.

Having a club that is 21+ is the better option, staying in business for the long term.

Since I moved back to Michigan, I have frequented City Club & Luna every Saturday for the past 3 months. Luna is packed every Saturday with the coolest, most diverse crowd of people that I have ever seen.

After Luna on Saturdays I go to City. I like the music at City better but the crowd is pretty thin.

In my opinion, 21+ is the way to go. :welcome::welcome::thumbsup:

For a band like Seabound, I don't think anyone will have to worry about hard party people, if it was a harsher band I guess maybe i can see that being a reason, but seabound isnt what I would call intense on any level.

All im saying is by making shows 21 and up, you are cutting out half the scene. Especially with bands that are popular like this one, I mean think of the crowd at necto, alot of the people who go there are 19-20 and love seabound but will miss out.

Im 21 so I dont care really, I will see them regardless, I just think its a bad move for there first tour here.

In general I would agree with you, but for whatever reason City Club has been the exception to the rule. As far as I can remember it's always been 18+, yet it's the longest running club in Detroit.

Yes, City Club is an exception to the rule. :respect:
