Dgn On Wikipedia!

OK, I think we should have an entry on Wikipedia.

My local mall's on WIkipedia.

That shitty punk band your younger brother's in, is on Wikipedia.

We should have an entry!!

I'm thinking Troy, some other mods, maybe even a few young plebes should hook up and do it.

G-d knows, it's wikipedia.

Once it's up, ANY of you asshats can edit it.

Ooooo... What info would go up? Obviously a short synopsis and some sort of history, which would have o come from Troy's hand. A list of prominent current and former members? Current list of mods? The DGN play nice ethos? What outside things would it link to? What other listings within Wiki?

Dude...we can have a member line up, with little short bios about whichever members want to put in some info about themselves. Not like an actual profile where they're all "I like art, writing, piano." but moreover what the person has done, either in life or on DGN (i.e. contributes monthly, actively on the street team...uhmm moderates , has 33,000 some odd posts, etc).

The "in life" aspect being things like "mother of three" or "graduated such and such university with a degree in underwater basket weaving". Things to that effect.

I dunno, just a thought. That way the world can know what kind of awesome ecclectic members we have

I like it! I think it would be great. It could state some history on how it came to be and how it evolved, state the varying political, religious, socialogical, etc., view points that have been represented by members, etc. It would definitely have to point out the saintliness of the founding member (maybe he would even allow the little pic I made for him to be used you know the one I'm talking about, Troy... )

I read wikipedia a lot but never looked into the actual updating/editing aspects of it. How is it determined what is the "correct" information? I'm under the impression everything there is collaborative, so whats to stop some jackasses from making 'fake" info and such?

Is Wikipedia like a dictionary for websites or something like that? I have heard of it but I dont think that I have ever read it.
