Brenda Starrr Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 It's in the early stages, but it's still lung cancer. I feel sick. I can't even talk about it right now. Please just pray for him. I don't care who you pray to, just do it. And any advice or info from anyone who's dealt with this would be welcome....

Steven Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 My advice is to hug a mexican, eat some pizza, drink three beers, unpack your boxes, take the dogs for a walk around your new neighborhood, love your man, love your kids, laugh as much as possible, fight over the TV remote, scratch the kitties, break an e string, cry a little, and keep on keepin on. nobody wants to lose those that they love, and yet we all do......celebrate your father every day and your own life as well and know that God has been good to you Brenda.
Homicidalheathen Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Hugs. May your journey together in this life not be over too soon.
Brenda Starrr Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 He sees a surgeon this week. It's a little bigger than a 1/4 of an inch. They'll remove it, as well as the area around it, and take some lymph nodes for biopsy. I just hope that it doesn't make it to the lymph nodes....

Maybe it's the no sleep talking, but that's too much to digest for me. I would just focus on your father, be there for him, and be there for your kids. This must be very hard and confusing for them. I find that sometimes focusing on others makes it easier to deal with something yourself. Maybe that's just me. Anyway, I'm sending my prayers and my :grouphug

Bernadette Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I would advise getting a 2nd opinion -- 2 heads are better than one! Power of positive thinking does make a difference -- attitude and outlook for the patient and family as well. I had an uncle that suffered from lung cancer. Anyway- will be thinking of you and your fam. PS - check into Leukemia/Lymphoma society - they have info on more than just blood cancers. Gilda's club is a non-profit cancer support center in royal oak, to learn and cope with it.
TomCat Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words, prayers, and good vibes you've been sending. We're hanging in there and we'l keep you posted. Thanks Again and keep the positive energy flowing.
