So, I play WoW.. most likely way more than I should...

I have a dilema... I just started playing last summer... and really have only ever played my one charator... have a couple alts but never played any beyond level 21...

When I started playing.. I chose a low pop server... which worked for me at first as I learned the game... but now...

I want to start Raiding bht my server (Shattered Halls) sucks monkey. I am thinking of doing a paid transfer...

What I need to find out is if I can pick what server to go to... and if so...

What server has the highest number of DGN members on it that play horde?

I never did a transfer myself, so I'm not the definitive source here, but I believe the only restrictions on moving your characters is that if your characters are on a PvE server, they can't be moved to a PvP server; otherwise, I think you're free to choose your server. Of course, I also haven't played in about a year, so...find some salt.

the only real restrictions are like was said above you can't transfer from pve to pvp also you can't transfer from an extremely low population server to a high population server for server capacity reasons. on top of that the only other restriction is i believe you can't transfer to an rp realm from anything other than an rp realm. as for what servers people play on i havne't a clue my wife and i both play on Eldre'Thalas PVE Horde but i dont know anyone else on there... its a good server as far as progression but the economy kinda sucks. hope this helpped a little

I played wow for nearly a year straight. I was the main Raid leader and the main tank for our guild, meaning the guy calling out all the actions in voice chat and also the guy standing in front of all the baddies with 39 other team members (for them that dont know what i meant) . Also ran the message boards for the most part and the guild bank etc etc etc. . This was all up until just before Burning Crusade came out.

We were the first guild on our server to kill the Four Horsemen in Naxxramas, (after long since plowing through MC and BWL which were both HUGE amounts of work to learn) Now with the level cap raise (which i've not played durring) might be a trivial accomplishment but it was the culmination of months-long work and practice. A TON of practice and also a lot of ass-kicking of guild members to farm up their EQ and show up to raids on time and regularly.

I've tried to stay away from MMOs and focus on my academic interests and the non MMO video and tabletop gaming i like for fear of the (very real) MMO addiction hitting me again. But i admit i often cast a emotional thought in the direction of WoW (and other MMOs) fairly often and could be talked back into them, i'm just trying hard to resist.

In wow... most dont want a low pop server really since all the endgame stuff is instanced, overcrowding isnt really an issue, you just want a large guild-pool to choose from for raiding. Although, there is something to be said for new-ish servers if you like being "top dog" since the competition is much lower. Games like EQ and such were much of the raiding (WAS) non-instanced overcrowding was a key problem but not so with wow. (at least not as of the last time i was playing it)

I spent some time playing D&D Online more recently which is clearly not as well rounded a game as WoW , but the community is MUCH older average-age-wise and people are far, far friendlier on average.
