Kit Kat P Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 7", 2/3, and 2 months, what do these numbers have in common? So, in about 2 months I'll be moving out of my in-laws house and into Fresno, CA. There is a lot of change just around the corner and I'm anxious for it all to just get here. I like my in-laws, but living w/ them is making me kinda hate them, and well I'm stuck w/ them. I know once I move out we will all be happier. I have a huge amount of stress w/ everything that is going on and will be soon happening. My gf is unemployed and just got shot down at the prespective that she wanted most. I am empathetic for her and don’t worry that she will find something, I just worry abot her becuase I know how hard it is to be unemployed. We spent the weekend w/ the friends that we are thinking about moving out w/ to air out any and all concerns, including things we don't like about each other's living habits. I'll be finished w/ my job in 2-3 months and transferring the 2nd job that I don't enjoy as much. Last night in a fit of whatever I cut about 7" off my hair. I now have hair that went from being 1/2 down the boobies (can't think of any other measurement) to above my shoulders (may get shorter in a few days), and I have 2/3 of my original, nearly a year old, perm left to bounce around on my considerable lighter head. This is the upteenth time that I've cut my hair before or during a major life change. My biggest haircut ever was the day before basic (bad idea, don't do it) and now this. I've heard it's common for women to cut their hair as an outward sign of change, but damn if I could move today I would. Okay, I'm done. *edited for my consistently bad grammar*
Miranda Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I know it must be shocking when you realize you have done this. I have had this feeling before. I have extremely long hair and I have almost cut it, in anger or wanting a situation to change. I mean cutting it on my own, with scissors. I don't know why that thought even crossed my mind. I often have wondered what I would have felt If I would have gave in to my feelings. I think maybe we feel extremely out of control and this is something we can control/change? I hope you feel better today. The one thing about hair is that it does grow back in time.
Onyx Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 It must be the season for the winds of change to blow in! I've been exploring a lot of other job possibilities too (may be leaving my full time job and going part time on two very different things). The only sure thing is change and often change is really good.

I did a full french braid down from top of crown to base of skull and then cut off the ponytail. Then I used my gf to clean it up a bit because it's so time consuming using two mirrors. I feel great today. I feel like I was able to exert control on somthing. And those 7 or so inches that I cut off grew in less then 3 years so I'm not worried about it.
