Unbelieveablely Wild Child

I suspect a little girl who would behave like that has either been badly abused by someone or has some sort of mental delay. Temper tantrums are one thing, but that is not normal behavior for a 5 year old child.

or its probably pearents with "oh, she/he is hyperactive" approach

i have ADHD and i never was allowed to use it as an excuse as it isnt. pisses me off that pearents play the adhd card when they cant be bothered to bring thier kids up properly

If there is abuse or some sevre dissorder I could understand but for a child of 5 to behave in that manner is deplorable. I have been around kids that showed a large lack of self control and couldn't listen to authority and I refuse to deal with other peoples out of control children. I am so thankful my daughter was/is so quiet and respectful and never gave me any headaches. Parents need to spend more time teaching their kids right from wrong and less time being in their own world. Once you have a kid you can't live like you did before they came along. I know ~ Sooth ~ blah blah blah. Those are my thoughts anyway.

I agree. It all starts at the home.

I consider a lack of discipline abuse also. Ignoring a child and refusing to teach them to behave is abuse too.

That child using violence toward an adult like that though seems to me quite an extreme sign that something is very wrong.

Indeed, neglect IS still a form of abuse.

You make a very good point onyx.

Part of the point being missed with this article, however, is that the police were called because the girl was having a tantrum. Have schools become so law bound that they can't even contain a 5 year old child from hurting herself or a classmate? Why were the police called?

police were most likely called because any action the school might take would be construed as child abuse or something... we live in a litigious (sp?) society... this kid should have been cuffed, as well as the parents. there is no excuse for that kind of behavior, imo... :erm

I read about that back when it happened and I thought it was a mess in itself. Something is going on at that little girls house definently. Be it poor ass parenting or abuse. The mother should be ashamed either way.
