Does anyone think a construction yard in 2254 would look like that? With all the old (current ) cars and structures? Lazy Photoshopists...

hah. Hearing him say "Space, the final frontier" still gives me goosebumps after all this time.

Yes I do. You need to know your Star Trek lore. Most of the civilized world was destroyed about 30-50 years before Cochran invented the first warp drive. Eugenics wars and all. Khan!!!!!!

It's also inaccurate because that ship was built in space not on earth.

According the the Gene Rodenberry in his book The Making of Star Trek, the Enterprise components were built at the San Francisco Navy Yards and then hauled into space for assembly. Watch the teaser closly... you dont see a ship.. you see a saucer section.

But, we have to wait and see what they have changed in Star Trek history.

Chris Pine as James T. Kirk

Zachary Quinto as Spock

Leonard Nimoy as Spock

Jacob Kogan as Spock

Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy

John Cho as Hikaru Sulu

Winona Ryder as Amanda Grayson (Spocks Mom)

I remember those... they were on Nicklodian

The first change I am noting is that Pike is the first CAptan of the Enterprise... and thats wrong... He was second, Kirk third... a woman was the first captin.. cant remember her name.

Ha... I didn't know much of the timeline and details so I started reading... Fascinating captain.

Wanna know some really weird Trivia? Kirk is not dead.

And to me I like Trek more than Wars because there is alot more depth in the storyline and characters in my opinion....oh god my inner geek is commin out lol

Thats the reason I like Trek so much. TNG and DS9 have some of the most complicated drawn out plot lines. Just grap one charactor.. Worf for example... his charcator is detailed from birth to... well... old age via plots and subplots over 6 seasons.

George Takei let it slip on Howard Stern last week that he was spoken to about a cameo appearance, and that William Shatner was not. Interesting how the Star Trek makers cant stand dealing with him anymore.

and a huge wOOt wOOt!!! for the new movie BTW.

The standard progression of enterprise Captains from start to kirk was, in the ye olden days (including the animated series):

Robert April

Christopher Pike

James T. Kirk

But both the bigwigs at paramount and Gene Roddenberry at some point became that the Animated Series was not part of the star trek cannon, and the animated series is the only place were April is mentioned as the first captain. (Other than novels which are always considered non cannon for the most part if they conflict with the live action or animated). So with the advent of this movie i think that debate will be over for good. Unless the movie is considered non-cannon which is very unlikely.

There was a female first officer in the original star trek pilot (With captain Christopher Pike played by Jeffery Hunter) which might be where the idea that maybe there was a female Captain of the original enterprise at some point, which I'm close to 100% sure is not accurate.

I used to waste a lot of my life on ST heh. Its been awhile though.

Me too.. been a long time though... but there was a time.. Star Trek was my life.

I will say this once, and only once.

And I will deny that I said this.

But when boys talk their Star Trek it's totally hot.
