Ice Queen (1) Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Seriously, a cotton ball soaked in vasaline will burn for 10-20 minutes. If you still can't get it going with kindling and that, your wood is probably too wet. If your wood is that wet, you could throw it in the oven at 350degF for half an hour or so to dry it out a bit. Gotta use kindling, though, unless you have one of those neat manufactured firestarting logs... --- I want to show Ice Queen how to start a fire. (and bring her some dark chocolate) my wood has been sitting in a garage for at least 7 years. maybe I will try the vaseline and cotton balls thing. When I lived in a house that relied on wood for heat, I used the fire starting logs. I am that lame, when it comes to starting fires. I hate to admit ever needing anyone for anything, but if we ever lost utilities, I would need someone to light my fire if I wanted cooked food. you want to get me hot and put something tasty in my mouth?

You need Rosetta Stone ... or maybe to have borrowed my four years of Japanese textbooks and workbooks and audio CD's (which load quite nicely into lessons on an iPod, may I add) from high school.

I have it. I can't remember a thing... EDIT - Remind me to borrow those when I get home. I still need them at work there, too. Edited October 20, 2008 by Msterbeau
Msterbeau Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I'm going to ask for this again - Honesty and communication. Up front, not a week later.

Head Wreck Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 a clean and tidy workshop with new lockers, a carpeted bench, and some tools to puty in the shed (miller, late), oh and an industrial sewing machine in the corner of the workshop for webgear repair and creation
jynxxxedangel Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I want for my two lazy boy cats to remove their fuzzy, beanbag-like carcasses from my lap, so I can get up! It's too difficult to move about, with 25 lbs of cat tumours permanently attached to my body. It's bad enough this chair's got me. The added weight and warmth isn't helping. Where's a mouse when I need one?
