The story of this word ....

My 5 1/2 year old is mildly Autistic. He's a bit strange due to this .... but he comes up with stuff pretty quickly and usually pretty funny. One day he was calling his brother an idiot and I told him to stop. Not to long after I heard him calling his brother a "mibiot". I looked at him and he said "I'm not calling him an idiot."

Then last night he comes out of his bedroom and tells me he can't go to bed yet. I asked why ... he said "The mibiots are hungry. I have to figure out how to get to them." Evidently they live on the dwarf planet (but it's really a dork) and one day when NASA takes him to Neptune he will visit them.

.... oh, and we figured out today that the mibiots like to sit around and play World of Warcraft all day on the dork planet.

He may be high functioning Autistic, but we're convinced he's going to be really great at something and make lots of money at it when he grows up. He's convinced he's going to be a Keebler Elf, then when he grows out of that he says he's going to be a teacher ....

He can figure out things "normal people" can't and he does it without any obvious thinking. His Developmental Pediatrician at his initial evaluation asked him to jump on one foot. He couldn't do it and he knew it. He was three. He immediately walked over to another chair, pulled it near the other and used the two chairs (opposite arms) to brace himself and jump on one foot. He amazes us everyday.
