I'm not a fan of country, I just can't get into it. Though lately I've been looking for music I like that is dark folk or dark and 'folkish' which is somewhat similar. No Cash right now because I've overplayed what I like of him. Here is what I have so far (tracks subject to change).

Rather than put up artists (Who's pretentiousness never ceases to amaze me) i'm just gonna toss out some of my favorite lyrics.

I normally hate the country-ish sounding songs (as opposed to people like Cash or, WIllie Nelson, or Emmylou Harris)

but I love the simultaneous patheticness and goofiness of this track

I grew up around country music because my family is huge into country, but I don't really listen to much, except for Hank III, who is one of my favorite musicians of all time. Currently listening to Assjack too, which isnt country, but his metal/punk sideproject.
