Anyone Else Following The Pope's Visit?

He's no PJP, that's for sure. As far as pope's go, PJP was a rock star.

But this Benedict...he seems to be holding his own. I'll admit, I was skeptical, but he seems to be doing all right. Good for him.

Although, I think the coverage of his visit is completely inane. Right now, on the television, I am watching people who are watching the pope...walk. Dumb.

Nope, I live on the street where "Popestock" is, literally a park with a massive statue of JPJ in it. Scary!

JPJ was probably the best pope in 500 years, even I liked him. As for the new guy, well the whole Hitler Youth thing doesn't do much for me, but being the ex-catholic I am, doesn't really matter. So far he hasn't said anything unexpected, which to me is expected.

I've spoken to a few Polish ladies here in Hamtramck and they think he's a dolt.

Wait, is there a PJP statue in Hamtramck?!?!?

How did I miss this?

Edited to correct dyslexia. What is UP with me today? Sheesh!

I have been, unintentionally because when I'm not watching a DVD i only have like 5 channels. The "so-called news" is better than an infomercial. But the money and human potential being wasted on this trip (much of it government money) irritates me and i tend to try and not focus on it, despite the "deer in the headlights" spectacle that hits me sometimes when I'm watching the news about it.

I did follow the previous pope fairly often and have several documentaries about him and i read about Catholicism in general on and off.

...I had hoped he would be a changem' up pope...

..I am not a fan... YET.. now if he starts up a think tank with the Dali Lamma... that would be really cool... :happydance
