Hold The Bacon -benefit Concert

Hi Guys!!!

HOLDtheBACON is a group that does fundraising for potbellied and pet pig sanctuaries. Its actually quite sad because pigs are more highly abandoned than dogs and cats, just at a smaller scale. but because very few people are right for being pet-pig parents, its hard to place them. They are very high maintenance, dont stay small (our 4y/o pig is 165lbs) and so less than 5% of pet pigs stay with thier original owners. Its sad.

We are holding a fundraiser benefit concert for Darlynn's Darlins, which is a sanctuary with over 150 pigs on just 2 acres. They have all been abandoned and many have also been abused and neglected. They have barely any donations and spend over $1000/mo on feed alone, and think of the vet bills.

UPDATE: Gothic Raven Goddess posted more about it below, but the sanctuary had a fire on mothers day. actually, three of them. first one killed 2 cats and a bird and burnded down half the house. second one started while they were cleaning debris and they were able to get it out by calling the fire department again. then at 3am when everyone was gone another large fire broke out and burned the rest of the house to the ground, and killed three blind pigs. other pigs were injured. It will be a very expensive rebuilding that will take 4-5 months. The insurance wont cover everything so they need money to get the rest taken care of. in the mean time they still have to work to feed the sanctuary animals. pigs and cows and dogs dont stop eating because there is a fire. if you go to our website (link below) there is a link to the newspaper article about the fire with pictures.

So far we are concidering working with Club Bijou as a venue for the concert. They have a capacity of 800 people so that will be GREAT!

60 SECOND CRUSH has just accepted our offer to play the concert! YEAH!!! there are other updated bands in a posting below. The date is set for August 2nd.

We've also decided to hold an auction from NOON til 2pm on the day of the concert before the music kicks up. There will be alot of NEW STUFF there that we are getting donated from local stores and businesses. Its not your grandma's tuesday night VFW Auction! If you want to help with finding items for donation let us know! this is perfect for someone who only has one hour total to volunteer. Also if you have a service to perform that we can get a gift card from you for your service to auction off that would be great! (like tattoos, lawn mowing, house cleaning, etc) THANKS!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! We need volunteers galore. we need a photographer and a graphic cartist and people to help with getting things to auction off. Its SO SIMPLE! 60 SECOND CRUSH is a gothic rock group. Our contact is also the bassist in CRUD. Crud has it in thier contract that they cant play benefits. stupid record lables :( but her other band can. This is going to be a darker-type benefit for people like here on DGN. She also suggested we get a burlesque group or two and a few other bands and performers. We might turn it into an all day event if we can get the right venue. Our "little" mascot, Muta (moodah) will be there for for a bit for pictures too... wearing his angel of death wings. (not the ones in my pictures, thats bat-pig lol)

If anyone knows any performers that would like to take part in this let me know! we can offer a tax write-off and publicity. THANKS!

I'm not being mentored by Sponges manager.....Their road manager sound guy is teaching me some stuff. I don't work for Sponge. I just know them is all. I do work for some bigger Detroit bands a lot though.

Not a single one of them will get back to us. I've tried, and am trying again. I'm not putting anyone on the bill till I have a conformation in front of me.
