hunhee Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I don't know why I often forget to post some of the more obscure things that I do, or are interested in... but I listen to NPR, probably more than I listen to anything else when I'm in the car driving. Right now, I'm really getting tired of them talking about Clinton/Obama (I care, but COME ON!!! enough is enough). But anyway.. Tomorrow (May 1st) there are a few movie theaters that are putting on a specialized broadcast at 8:00 p.m. This is the website.. check it out..
sass_in_the_pants Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I love TAL. I was a supporter of 101.9 for years and listened to the Thistle and Shamrock, Blues from the Lowland, all sorts of good stuff on the weekend. Then they switched formats and I haven't listened to them since. :( I still miss the music. There's an AA NPR station that I can sometimes get at my house, but not always.
Burrich1 Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Wow Hunhee, I had no idea TAL branched out into television and now the movies?!!? I Supported Michigan Radio for years, until I got Sirius. They have NPR talk and NPR Now playing 24-7, along with PRI and some other related shows. TAL was always my favorite. No matter how many times I hear the episode on Fiascos, I end up pulling over because my eyes are watering and my sides are killing me from laughing so hard for 15 minutes straight. It's the one where Ira Glass (the greatest story teller of all time) interviews Jack Hitt about the High School Peter Pan production he witnessed. Amazing stuff. Back to topic, thanks for the info. Will definitely have to look into I pray it is better than Garrison Keelers Prairie Home Companion movie.
Burrich1 Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Crap, it's one night only, and isn't playing anywhere on the east side.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 ...and we missed it. Didn't realize it was $20 bucks a head.... saw Iron Man sneak preview instead hah (which was good). Thanks miss Amanda.
