last time i had a hiatus on here i was deposed of my position of most poster and "scourge of the forums, threadjacker extraordinare" but i've had to of late.

things have been hectic here, starting with a bit of a shift about in my workshop which ended up rearranging the library in my house. after looking at the wiring (and having yet another 390Volt shock) i decided the cieling must come down and the lights and sockets rewired for safety. over here that means i must have the work done signed of by a qualified sparkie (which i am not). work was put on hold for a few days as the patio doors collapsed finally (10' of glass! heavy and they do not make doors that big any more, had to have the door frames especially extruded). as yet, i am not online as such yet, but borrowing the use of my parents computer to clear out the spam mail and so forth.

other news. i'm moving to night shift so right now i'm deliberately sleep depriving myself to force my body to get the new pattern. joy. my eyes are burning already. reason for this, Head Wreck needs a bigger car, or just a car after myself and another country lane user both aquaplaned into each other Wednesday, 2 days after i did the front wheelbearings in record time (30 mins, book time 1 hr 40mins. all hail the disk cutter)

fan fethin dangle, just as i decide i need a vacation

so how has everyone else been? rather spiffing i hope, and i see we have some fresh faces here, Hello and Welcome

Hey HR!! Was wondering where you'd wandered off too.... In fact I was over at Jeff and Brenda's and your name came up. We need another visit!!!

Good luck with repairs.

total loss mate. structures so badly caved that the front valance is against the wheels and the headlamp is sitting over the window cleaner bottle and its apropriate panels that was bolted to. i caught the guys towing eye dead on into a soft bit of the car (and 106's are nutorius for peel open on impact), i did that some years ago with a 306, a hyundail clipped the bumper as the daft bint was driving to fast to close to a blind junction and on her cellphone, and had her car bent in half for the troubles where i needed new liscence plates and bumper.

i could jig it (have access to a proper jig where my dad works) but on a 14 year old car which was too small for me and starting to suffer badly on the suspension gubbins its just not worth it. i've allready more or less sold the handbrake lever and door locks/ignition barrel to a work colleague fretting over his MOT Test (roadworthyness testing). just got to clear out the bits i want to keep now and remove my crap from glovebox and boot before i drag it down to the rear driveway for any further salvage before i send it to be scrapped/recycled

Glad you popped on to let us know you are ok and what's going on. We were wondering where you disappeared to. Sorry to learn of your accident, but it sounds like you were thankfully unhurt.

Hope your new shift goes smoothly. Quite smart of you to start trying to adjust your body to the upcoming schedule change. And I hope things go smoothly in the home repairs area.

Keep in touch when you can until things get straightened around!

Good to see you at least partially back anyhow. Thanks for taking the time to explain whats going on with your life, i like hearing about it , really. =)

I'm kind of in shock of the building codes over there though. I thought the idea was you plant a computer with internet access in the middle of nowhere, and build housing all around it no? Isn't that the universal standard method????

Hey Head_Wreck!! *hugs*

Good to see you're keeping us aware of your situation. I was just mentioning to someone I hadn't seen you on in a while. So yes, you have been missed. :)

Keep us in the loop, and hopefully you can be back with us on a regular basis really soon... >:D:)

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
