AN Adelaide man has been acquitted of assaulting and having unlawful sex with a teenager he met via a vampire website.

A South Australian District Court jury took four hours today to find Warwick Acott, 39, of Seaton, not guilty of one count of having unlawful sex with a teenager he met on vampirefreaks.com, and two counts of assaulting her.

The girl said he stalked her for years with sexually violent messages before pushing his way into her house on June 18, 2006 - when she was 16 - biting her breast, whipping her with a cat o' nine tails and forcing her to perform fellatio.

But Mr Acott said the girl pursued him, telling him he was gorgeous and she wanted to be his slave, after finding his photograph on the vampire website.

He said he was flattered and fascinated when she told him she was a ``pain junkie'' and wanted to be his whore.

He told the jury he'd broken off contact with the girl twice after finding out she had lied about her age.

But he was happy to see her again when she tapped him on the shoulder in a sex shop, and asked him to buy her a whip for her 16th birthday.

He said she invited him home, where he admitted he whipped and bit her - at the girl's request.

But he denied the fellatio occurred, saying he pushed her away when she revealed sex would be unlawful due to her age.

Seventeen is the age of consent in SA unless both parties are 16.

Mr Acott said that after he unleashed a tirade of abuse at her, she warned him she would make him suffer.

The girl admitted a series of lies in her evidence, including that Acott had cut her with a scalpel.

Outside the court, Mr Acott said he was relieved justice had been done.

"All I have to say is I'm very grateful to the jury, I'm pleased they came to the right verdict,'' he said.

Please note the bold print. What does this mean? If two people have sex, and the younger is 13, 14, or 15 and the older is MORE than 5yrs older than that age, you are guilty of committing statutory rape.

Please go read every line of Chapter LXXVI section 750 of the Michigan Penal code. There is not one place that states the legal age of consent is 18, or 16 with a 5yr prerequisite. That is only the case if the younger is between the ages of 13 and 15.

The legal age of consent is 16.

Once they are 16 they can fuck anyone 13 to 120, as long as there is mutual consent.

(b) Force or coercion is used to accomplish the sexual contact. Force or coercion includes, but is not limited to, any of the following circumstances:

(i) When the actor overcomes the victim through the actual application of physical force or physical violence.

(ii) When the actor coerces the victim to submit by threatening to use force or violence on the victim, and the victim believes that the actor has the present ability to execute that threat.

(iii) When the actor coerces the victim to submit by threatening to retaliate in the future against the victim, or any other person, and the victim believes that the actor has the ability to execute that threat. As used in this subparagraph, “to retaliate” includes threats of physical punishment, kidnapping, or extortion.

(iv) When the actor engages in the medical treatment or examination of the victim in a manner or for purposes which are medically recognized as unethical or unacceptable.

(v) When the actor achieves the sexual contact through concealment or by the element of surprise.

© The actor knows or has reason to know that the victim is mentally incapable, mentally incapacitated, or physically helpless.

(d) That other person is related to the actor by blood or affinity to the third degree and the sexual contact occurs under circumstances not otherwise prohibited by this chapter. It is an affirmative defense to a prosecution under this subdivision that the other person was in a position of authority over the defendant and used this authority to coerce the defendant to violate this subdivision. The defendant has the burden of proving this defense by a preponderance of the evidence. This subdivision does not apply if both persons are lawfully married to each other at the time of the alleged violation.

(e) The actor is a mental health professional and the sexual contact occurs during or within 2 years after the period in which the victim is his or her client or patient and not his or her spouse. The consent of the victim is not a defense to a prosecution under this subdivision. A prosecution under this subsection shall not be used as evidence that the victim is mentally incompetent.

(f) That other person is at least 16 years of age but less than 18 years of age and a student at a public or nonpublic school, and the actor is a teacher, substitute teacher, or administrator of that public or nonpublic school. This subdivision does not apply if the other person is emancipated or if both persons are lawfully married to each other at the time of the alleged violation.

(2) Criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 2 years or a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.

According to the State Police. There is an amendment to the law that changed the age of consent from 16 to 17 in Michigan. No I don't know the number of the new statute. Had an incident in a chatroom and age came up. No I wasn't involved directly in it but legal age become a topic of discussion and someone called the state police and asked and was told it is now 17. Plus if you do a google search for age of consent laws. It lists 17 as legal age for Michigan. They used to list it as 16 till a few years ago.

this is the added portion that goes into effect on 4/1/08. This is the only change to the sexual conduct laws for the state of Michigan.

Morals are the "collective" decision of those in power to control the populace around it. The proof lies in history. Why do you think there are so many conflicting morals in the world, all claiming to be correct with absolutely no definitive proof? Sounds like a matter of opinion to me.

Yes, I will agree that there are some morals that seem to be such simple common sense that almost everyone agrees on them; "The Golden Rule". But they are still matters of opinion.

Rather than just plagiarize, I'll simply point to Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers. Therein lies the greatest argument against any sort of "basic human morality" ever devised.
