Fin Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Remember Ultra-man? Used to grace us in Detroit on TV20 when I was a kid. We also used to have Johnny Sokko & his Flying Robot: &, of course, Godzilla. Here he is getting some hot monster love: But my very favorite Detroit TV personality was Sir Graves Ghastly. I still miss that show. Other memories of a pop-Detroit now past?
Draco1958 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Oopsy the Clown, Chiller Theater, Jerry Booth's funhouse (out of Canada), Rita Bell prize movie, Kelly & Co, Channel 7 afternoon movie.

pomba gira Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 The Ghoul! Incredible crazy bastard (literally, the show would go on frequent hiatus while he was in psych hospitals)... used to blow up stuff with M80s on the air. Viewers would send in little knick-knacks they'd made for him to blow up. Gawd we loved that show! My brother & I wasted much of our childhood watching channel 50 & 20... we know some episodes of "I Love Lucy" & "Gilligan's Island" line for line. Also the 4:30 Movie on channel 7... for a while they were running Son of Godzilla like every other week. That movie show on Sunday mornings, lot of Abbot & Costello movies. Creature Feature on Saturdays. Then there were all manner of low-budget oddities on channel 9 out of Windsor: Chez Helene, the Friendly Giant, Mr. Dressup, and that weirdo in the treehouse with the talking moose head named Clyde.
Fin Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 OMG--Kimba! The Ghoul! The Friendly Giant! ROFL--I remember all those. How 'bout G-FORCE??
Draco1958 Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Speed Racer, Astroboy. Speaking of the ghoul, he was at the Novi Comic Con. My friend's dad went to school with him.
pomba gira Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Speed Racer, Astroboy. Speaking of the ghoul, he was at the Novi Comic Con. My friend's dad went to school with him. No shit?!?! Dayumm, I'd love to meet the Ghoul in the flesh. I'd totally do the "We're not worthy" thing.

Fin Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 How'd this for visual-sense-memory? I remember the band members' teeth. That's right--their teeth. Nothing else about the show.
Oh_My_Goth Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 How'd this for visual-sense-memory? I remember the band members' teeth. That's right--their teeth. Nothing else about the show. Understandable.....
Miranda Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Zoom and The Electric Company of the 70's on PBS (56)... Not the newest version of Zoom, omg.
pomba gira Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I used to love the polka dot door OMG hadn't thought of that one in years. Can't really remember anything about it except it was kind of soothingly boring. Zoom & Electric Company were good... especially liked Zoom; the idea of a show with no adults in sight anywhere was really radical at the time.
jarmana Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Alright people I remember waking up and watching this cartoon before school it was on ch 20 at 7:30am WD The REAL Ghostbusters

Simon Bar Sinister Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 *bump* The Scene, which was the precursor to The New Dance Show. They used to shoot it in some POS studio on E. Jefferson, if I remember right. My brother was actually on it once (maybe twice).
