Nightgaunt Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Anyone else find themselves outside their body periodically? Where have you been and what have you seen?
hunhee Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Anyone else find themselves outside their body periodically? Where have you been and what have you seen? I think I may have had this happen.. I didn't really go anywhere, it was as if I were an outside observer to events that were going on around me. I've long since had a fascination with astral travel/out of body experiences, kinda like my curiosity with all things mystic. I don't honestly know if I believe in all of it, but definitely interested in learning more. Where have you been? what have you seen?
Zeromancer Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I strongly believe in Astral Projections, I do it all the time, I always get this uncomfortable feeling like you get when you know your not supposed to be doing something and it kinda scares you a little

I started to panic, and then I woke up/snapped out of it. :/
hunhee Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I LIVE outside my body.So when you're having sex, is it like watching a porn? hehe
Msterbeau Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 So when you're having sex, is it like watching a porn? hehe It's like MAKING it.
Rev.Reverence Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 YES... For a long time now. Nearly everyone does it......It is the same as dreaming..except your concious and sub-conscious communicate directly instead of allegorically (I don't know if that is the BEST word but I'll let it slide.) If you FEEL you should be doing something...chances are you have something to do over there... Many people are busy doing MANY things in the "Dream" (preferred term amongst my Brethren)... For those of you who get 'The Panic'...try more waking Yoga exercises, Tai-Chi, (here are other exercises from Wicca, Druidism, Shamanism, Ceremonial Majik..etc.etc.etc)....and a 'soothing meditation' as you familiarize your conscious mind with the concept of operating without a body tied to it...DO NOT TRY TO PROJECT WHILE YOU ARE AWAKE! I will answer most questions on THIS "Occult' topic in publicly... I will also delve into it via PM if you wish...
Onyx Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 For those who have experienced this, have you also experienced any type of near-death out of body experience? Do you think this is the same phenomenon? I know it's steering the topic in a bit of a different direction but they seem very similar to me (just from some of the descriptions, haven't experienced it myself).

I've always considered the Dream and the Astral separate - but linked - realms. There are a couple of schools of thought regarding how we access these realms. Is it sort of like the World Wide Web, where one downloads the information or is it more like getting in the car (the astral or dream body) and driving to the location? Or if you want to get all Zen and stuff, none of that really matters. As far as dealing with panic, once you can just "let it ride" and have fun zipping around the multiverse, it becomes much easier.
Nightgaunt Posted June 5, 2008 Author Posted June 5, 2008 Where have you been? what have you seen? That's a long story and it's late. I'll try and post a little this weekend if you like...
sass_in_the_pants Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Anyone else find themselves outside their body periodically? Where have you been and what have you seen? Never out of my body. Always out of my mind. Odd how that works.

In Shamanism... N.American, it is the spirit realm/world... Australian, 'The Dream'... Wiccans, are generally as a GROUP 'wishy&washy'...(in a vain attempt to NOT upset ANYONE) Hermetics (OTO, GD, & the like) will generally argue to back you up... Now I get ZEN..(& a little Sufi if we are lucky) It does not matter what you call a certain thing, someone else WILL call it something else... About the 'astral body'...I like the Hermetics term "Body of Light"... One does not "get into it" you already are... "The Ku is in the Ka, not the Ka in the Ku.." Ku=Body Ka=Soul Your Aura is the part of your soul, or 'body of light', that can be measured as an electro-magnetic field.. Therefor, it is more like putting down a rock,(body) and realizing you can now ignore physics...(material, not meta) I describe 'visions' with the words you said, "It's kinda' like the WWW...you download stuff"

Not the safest thing, IMHO.

Enishi Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I haven't had any, though I have had some semi-lucid dream type experiences. A friend of mine does claim do be able to project however, and has at times observed what I was doing while out of sight. He hasn't always been accurate (supposedly the astral plane is quite confusing, and one can be decieved by the subconscious unless you have a high degree of mental discipline and clarity), but the times that he has have certainly given me reason to pause.
pomba gira Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Only once, in my early 20s. I was overdosing and not breathing w/no pulse. Very odd, wasn't like "watching from the ceiling" as is often described, but something more complex that I can never quite put into words... like my POV was about an inch outside my skin all over and expanding outward. I remember being very interested and wanting to explore, see if I could leave the room or the building. But my first hubby was crying and saying "come on Hille, breathe, breathe!" and it was distressing to see him so upset. So I went back.
peelingchrome Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I haven't had any out-of-body experiences, but I've been able to remote view on occasion. If only I had some control of it...
