I need a muse. Or something..

/rant

I've sat down in front of the computer every night this week becuase I want to get my music creation flowing again but it is just not working. Things sound ok for a moment and then...they sound like shit.

/end rant

I need a muse or advise from fellow creators of music or any art really on how to get out of the rut (Its been years and much $$, more time is not the answer)

A muse isnt necessarily the answer, either. :p Sometimes they can be unreliable.

If they're not being useful for creative purposes, there's always other stuff to do with them... :whistle:

I'd like one too, please.

I deny everything and know nothing.. :innocent:

Besides, we all know the Muse doesn't get involved, we just inspire..

But to be more on topic, I just think of something that completely inspires me... (in the moment inspiration).

If it's a person, I try to pick apart what it is about that person that makes me feel as strong as I do... Or if it's a thing I like to do, I try to figure out WHY that thing inspires me to continue to do it.

OR if I hate something.. why does it provoke such negatively strong emotions in me?..

When looking for a muse, I try to go to the extremes.. extract the feelings..

I know sounds a bit scientific and not necessarily artistic doesn't it?

It's probably why I suck at creating anything. :(

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
