this is and isnot technically true....the guy your talking about was the first largely COMMERCIAL Bozo....he came up with the design, costume, marketing..all of it...but the FIRST bozo is actually the dame guy that used to do Goofy's Voice for Disney.

Wow, that was THE LONGEST running live children's show ever, if I am not mistaken.

The waiting list for Bozo tickets was OUTRAGEOUS!!!

I remember meeting Bozo at Perry Drugstore when I was a little kid, and getting an autographed photo..wish I still had it. He was the only clown that didn't scare me.

RIP, Bozo the Clown. You entertained so many generations of children.

I believe that's called "coulrophobia"... and is actually pretty common. A lot of kids are terrified of clowns. Best evil clown movie: Killer Klowns from Outer Space, featuring the cheesiest "bikers" ever captured on film.
