WARNING TO ALL WHO VALUE THEIR RIGHT TO PRIVACY!!

Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo users around the net and see what you're doing and where you are going (similar to Cookies.)

Yahoo is recording every website and every group you visit. Take a look at their updated privacy statement:

http://info.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yahoo/details.html

How To Stop Them

1. About halfway down the page, in the section on Cookies, you will see a link that says "Web Beacons". Click on the phrase "WebBeacons".

2. That will bring you to a paragraph entitled "Outside the Yahoo Network". In this section you'll see a little "click here to opt out" link which will let you "opt-out" of their new method of snooping.

3. Once you have clicked that link, you are exempted. Notice the "Success" message on the top of the next page.

Note: Be careful because on the "successful" page there is also a "Cancel Opt-out" button which, if clicked, will *undo* the opt-out. It appears after you have hit the opt-out button, so it is a bit confusing.

P.S. You have to do this on every computer you use and on every browser you use too, if you (or someone else sharing your computer) use more than one browser

WOW...corporations are such assholes.

Thanks for letting me know. Hell, I may even just boycott Yahoo and send them a nasty e-mail letting them know such. That's really the only way to change anything in this world is to reject it outright.

I figured everyone would be able to make use of this post.. ;)

When I found this shit out, I was extremely angry..therefore, the thread.

Yay. I know I have hated Yahoo since the beginning for a reason. I just didn't know why until now. :)
