Im sure most of you plan to go see it. But is anybody else as amazed as I am at just how huge this film is? I can't think of a single film in my lifetime that has so much hype around it. I don't even think people were this excited about the star wars prequals. Im also sure Im not the only one who's worried that it won't live up to the hype but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see.

actually....this movie wasn't AS hugely hyped BEFORE the death of Heath Ledger..but know it's grown to an almost "Brandon Lee/ The Crow" level of infamy BEFORE it's release..because everyone wants to see the role that killed him.

see...the role of "The Joker" on film has been something of a cinema curse...as in it causes horrific nightmares to the actors that play it...Jack Nichelson and Sid Caeser both have confessed to having nightmares when they played the Joker, and Heath Ledger was talking to production staff of having nightmares as well, and not being able to sleep.

Also...Christian Bale = ONE DAMN SWEET BATMAN!!!!

And I recall as a young teen that the line for TMNT wrapped around the theatre TWICE. The hype for that was absolutely ludicrous, though it was the age of the cabbage patch kids when people had money and apparently not enough to do with it.

I think its been really hyped because Batman Begins was really good. Just think, if the Phantom Menace had acutally been really good, how much more hype would have surrounded the Attack of the Clones.

I myself am super excited, I have heard rumors that Harley Quinn may have a part, thought I doubt it to be a big one. I'm assuming if it happens at all it will be at the end of the movie if the Joker is put in Arkham, but it won't be Harley it will be Harleen! ::sigh:: I love the Harley character. (and yes I was/am a huge fan of the animated series due to her). I guess I'll have to wait for the next one for my Harley fix.

I don't know. I don't see any more hype for this film than any other movie. When you're looking for it, you tend to find more.

I'm stoked about seeing the movie. I want to believe that Heath Ledger is going to make a better joker than Jack Nicholson, but we'll see. As much as I liked Tim Burton films, I will only hope that this new movie will be darker and edgier.

This is a franchise with characters people have cared about for many decades and in some cases, the fan's entire lifetime. I try to ignore hype since it skews the objectivity of criticism. (Some people buy into it and love it for the sake of hype, some people will hate it as a result of hype- both are misguided).

I'm only concerned that as delectable a film as this will be for the American appetite, it'll only be expelled through the American anus like all other comic book movies. I mean, really, when was the last time you thought about Spiderman 3 in a meaningful way? So yeah, it's fun from time to time to indulge in junk food movies, but I don't sit at the edge of my seat waiting months for my visit to McDonald's no matter how tasty those burgers can be.
