Thank you. I actually think I was a bit too hard on the movie in my review since there was quite a bit (the bulk of it, really) that I enjoyed for what it was.

To those of you who liked this film, there is a Korean movie called "Oldboy" which also depicts a criminal mastermind more interested in dissecting a man's soul than material gain. So phenomenally cruel in its conclusion, it makes the Joker's ferryboat experiment seem like child's play. It gets my highest recommendation.

Im going to lower the weapons we always have drawn on each other long enough to agree with you on oldboy.

Oldboy really is fantastic. Can't argue with that one.

I just got done seeing it today.

WOW...Ledgers Joker made me wanna orgasm....it was AMAZING...a mix of Jack's joker voice, tossed in with a little bit of Caeser Ramero's....crazy sweet!! I love how his Joker wasn't the "lay back n watch" kind...he was more of the "take charge, lead the attack" kind...amazing.

I do have one problem though....they introduced, created, and killed Two-face all in one film, along with his gf....thats a little soon, for my taste. I realize that they do this in ALOT of comic movies, but Two-face isn't a bit player.

I do like the connections between him and Joker though...chance and chaos....flip sides of the same coin very nicely done.

I loved it so much I had to see it again. There is so many favorite parts of this movie but I would have to say the bank robbing scene blew me away. There is no honor among theives on how they set that up and got away in the school buses. Brilliant! I plan to see it one more time.

this movie was phenomenal! i saw it the day after it came out and then i took jane dazzle again this past weekend. she loved it as well. i dont think two-face is dead because you can see him breathing when Jim gordon and batman were talking, either he is bad at playing dead or he really isnt. Heath ledger(r.i.p) wat a last role for him to play immortalized in film. Christian bale gave a stellar performance i cant wait for the next one. Until the penquin takes up tap dancing my favorite is batman

Speaking of the Dark Knight, this article on a political site I frequent got on my nerves.

http://www.counterpunch.org/nicolini07262008.html

Although I consider myself something of a libertarian, I was just as irritated by another article on a libertarian website wherein the reviewer whined about the Spiderman movies portraying corporations in a bad light, and asked why Peter Parker can't find a better way of making money if he's so smart.

Some people just can't let go enough to enjoy stuff I guess...

I want to see this movie!!!!!

I finally saw this movie and was personally blown away. It was very deep and yes, I have to say that Heath Ledger played a phenomenal role as the Joker. He totally has a lot of sides to him that he dives deep into. What a fucking shame that this guy is gone. This is definitely one of the movies that I will own when its released on DVD.

It was truly enjoyable, well-acted, & well-crafted.

My only criticism would be that it needed a couple of "breathers" to better appreciate the emotional impact of some of its heavier scenes. The constant onslaught of intensity ultimately downgraded my emotional sensitivity after awhile.

That said--still excellent.

I totally realized that I haven't posted here.

When went again, to see it with Jarod's brother. In Imax.

I must say, I was really expecting more. I wouldn't go as far as saying that I'm disapointed, but my expectations where extremely high. I hated the self-scaraficing ending, it left a really bad taste in my mouth.

What it comes down to.

Did it live up to my (probably unrealistic) expectations? NO.

Was Ledger as good as everyone was ranting about? Hell YES.

Was is a good movie? Yes, It's not as if I loathed it.

One thing I did notice. I must have an odd sense of humor. I found my self laughing alone at things. Perhaps it was the area we were in (Cascade, that is filled with a bunch of people snotty people with their heads up there asses) but J and J weren't laughing either. Perhaps I just have a morbid sense of humor....

One word. Overrated

actually....this movie wasn't AS hugely hyped BEFORE the death of Heath Ledger..but know it's grown to an almost "Brandon Lee/ The Crow" level of infamy BEFORE it's release..because everyone wants to see the role that killed him.

see...the role of "The Joker" on film has been something of a cinema curse...as in it causes horrific nightmares to the actors that play it...Jack Nichelson and Sid Caeser both have confessed to having nightmares when they played the Joker, and Heath Ledger was talking to production staff of having nightmares as well, and not being able to sleep.

Also...Christian Bale = ONE DAMN SWEET BATMAN!!!!

I don't remember Sid Ceaser playing the Joker. I think you're thinking of Ceaser Romero.
