Ohh - isnt' that the one with the redneck vampires? The Civil War dude (Lance Henrikksen - one of my favorite b-movie actors), the fat little kid, the motorcycle mama, and the pretty girl who puts the bite on a farmkid named Caleb?

I LOVE that movie.

Yes... It is my favorite Vampire movie

No one mentioned "The Hunger," even though Bauhaus was in the beginning of it? Maybe I'm just older than y'all.

Hmmm, well, I guess that we'd have to define "gothic" for starters. I'll self define mine, as "vampires, and or medievel period involving "evil." These are in no particular order:

Army Of Darkness

Nosferatu

Van Helsing

Bram Stoker's Dracula

Blade I

Lestat

Interview With A Vampire

Nightmare before Christmas

Underworld

Sleepy Hollow

How could I forget to add LadyHawke & the first Poltergeist movie?

I worship Goblin... Glad you approve!!!

I guess I lose style points but I've always thought Dario Argento was a bit over-rated. I like suspiria but the others....it just seems like his whole schtick is gory murder scenes but his movies lack any real intensity.....in my opinion.

oh and goblin, eh.......

Army of Darkness was a cinematic masterpiece. For example, Bruce Campbell is fighting himself and the evil Bruce Campbell falls over and breaks into a bunch of little Bruce Campbell's. He also has to use his shotgun at K-mart. Citizen Kane is a joke compared to this Sam Raimi moment of genius.

not quite as good but still entertaining:

Unbreakable

Scanners

wargames

life force

x2: xmen united (I'm not kidding, this was a great movie)

ringu

ju-on

dark city (as previously mentioned)

ghost in the shell

isola

depeche mode: strange

depeche mode: strange too

of course I love the matrix movies too, thought the last one was my least favorite

and in addition to scanners, we've already established that Phee and I may not agree on Dario Argento (or david lynch?), we are both big David Cronenburg fans. Videodrome was good, Existenz was great, the fly was pretty good, the dead zone is a masterpiece.

I love David Lynch...

I enjoy almost anything by Jorg Buttgereit (Der Todesking, Nekromantik, Schramm, etc.), but I can be one sick little girl.
