Az_ Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 For my money(and liljrockbunny) the greatest movie villain ever has to be Bijomaru Mogami from the movie Azumi. Sure the movie is so so. But once Bijomaru shows up... lets just say he eats the screen up like no other.
phee Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 specifically about movies? (as opposed to the other thread) Hmmm Lady Kaede played by Mieko Harada from Akira Kurosawa's "RAN" Justified revenge is her goal, and she is really REALLY good at it.

Still, I like some others: David Bowie as Jareth in "Labyrinth" was fun, that totally psycho killer in "Battle Royale", and Hannibal Lecter. Oh, oh, and that really hot scowly chick dressed all in black from one of the Superman movies, the Russian-looking one with Zod. Oh, and the "Bride with White Hair" conjoined twin evil witch villains. Those guys were awesome. *loves villains*

Ah phee... you have shown true good taste. Rān is a true classic from perhaps the greatest director to ever live (opinions may vary).
Simon Bar Sinister Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 first few that came to mind: Hannibal Lecter (the silence of the lambs) Mona Demarkov (Romeo is Bleeding) The Duke of New York (escape from New York) King Ghidra (various Japanese monster movies)

jynxxxedangel Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Vicomte Sébastien de Valmont (played by John Malkovich), and Marquise Isabelle de Merteuil (played by Glenn Close), in "Dangerous Liaisons." Very subtle villains, but germane for the time period in which the storyline is set.

Come on - he's immaculate in white with red/pink makeup & carrying a rose in feudal Japan. Don't forget that his sword has no guard, because he's never had to guard before.
Az_ Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 An honorable mention to Asami Yamazaki from Audition. Genre defining performance.
phee Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 An honorable mention to Asami Yamazaki from Audition. Genre defining performance. Oh hell yeah....
n0Mad Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Vicomte Sébastien de Valmont (played by John Malkovich), and Marquise Isabelle de Merteuil (played by Glenn Close), in "Dangerous Liaisons." Fucking awesome movie. Some day I will do that play. I need to brush up on my smallsword though to do the choreography. Here's one of my favorite movie villains, Frollo from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".
Az_ Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 Dennis Hopper was excellent in Speed He was one of the most intelligent American villains in a long time... right up until he lost his head.
Az_ Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 Ah... Aguirre. I love/dread that film. It is one of the most stunning but emotionally exhausting movies ever. Never watch it when you are feeling down. It will suck the life out of you and bring on suicidal thoughts. It will bring any party to its knees. But you won't be able to take your eyes off it for a moment.

creatureofthenyte Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Mark Wahlberg in the movie Fear. The Headless Horseman in Sleepy Hollow Kevin Spacey in 7
Az_ Posted August 8, 2008 Author Posted August 8, 2008 Mark Wahlberg in the movie Fear. The Headless Horseman in Sleepy Hollow Kevin Spacey in 7 Oooh... keeping in the Christopher Walken theme (the Horseman) I would suggest the movie The Comfort of Strangers in which he plays the character Robert (I know not a threatening name). He gets under your skin early and starts creeping you out before you know it and you don't know why.
jynxxxedangel Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 How could anyone forget Sebastian Caine (Kevin Bacon), from "Hollow Man"? That guy CREEEPED me out!!! Also, I can't believe no one has mentioned The Kurgan (Clancy Brown), from "Highlander"!!!!!!
