liljrockbunny Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Watching the Olympics (Mens Beach Volleyball doubles) and came across the name Reinder Nummerdor - what a great name! Almost as good as a local biker's name for his dog "Mr. Rammerdoodle". Anyone has any others to share?
TygerLili Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 At the hospital I work at there was a patient with the last name Dickey-Land. Per HIPAA, I can't give out the first name, but that sounded like something off the Jay Leno headlines.

jynxxxedangel Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Kosuke Fukudome (pronounced "KOH-skay foo-koo-DOUGH-may", but you can imagine the mispronunciations by commentators ), Major League Baseball player with the Chicago Cubs. I've heard SO many people slaughter this poor guy's name, trying to pronounce it on the radio and television!
taysteewonderbunny Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 My mom, in college, came across these names: Mary Christmas Tree, and her twin brother, Douglass Fir Tree Her brother briefly dated Crystal Chande (phonetically SHAN-duh) Leer of the Leer (as in jet) family. Fellow that lives in my building, last name phonetically KOONtz, (Kuntz) is used to people slaughtering it. And when I worked as a file clerk at a transformer (not the toys) factory, a parts supplier salesperson I knew was named Harry Siemen (hominym to semen). I think though, liljrockbunny, Rex Hiscock takes the cake. That's just too funny.
